The Post also says the widespread belief among progressives is that the so-called "centrist" Clinton/Democratic Leadership Council strategy (also known as the right wing Democratic GOP Lite) is a failed one. The Washington Post has never been considered "conservative leaning," and to my knowledge, has never endorsed a Republican since Ike. In the past ten years it has moved a bit towards the Center Left from it's more Liberal past, but that is because of the pressures it faces from the Washington Times, which is truely Conservative, and has been beating the Post in many of the "scoops", and giving broad coverage to stories the Post refused to publish or ignored. As Tim Russert recently stated, the Washington Post and the NY Times "cannot ignore the Washington Times." 2. As a more-often than-not Republican voter, send us a liberal candidate like Dean, and we will eat the children of the Democrat Party... |
