Subject: BS: 34', 1967 Robertson Wood Boat Auctioned From: annamill Date: 05 Aug 03 - 07:38 PM We have put our beloved Windy III, up to Auction on Mudcat. We are also putting her on Ebay. If we get a bid in either place the other auction will be removed. She is a beauty and we will be putting a picture of her on the auction Friday or maybe Thursday night. Go have a look at her stats. Subject: RE: BS: 34', 1967 Robertson Wood Boat Auctioned From: annamill Date: 07 Aug 03 - 10:33 PM Ok, the pictures are in and at the auction thanks to Pene Azul! Have fun, Amos. The pictures really do not do her justice. You know when I was taking the pictures I realized I had forgotten how much I loved her. It's funny how we harden ourselves when circumstances force into a situation. I wish I could afford to take her with us. oh well! Love, Annamill

Subject: RE: BS: 34', 1967 Robertson Wood Boat Auctioned From: Amos Date: 08 Aug 03 - 02:12 AM Funny --she looks like a well-loved boat!! It seems to resonate right through the pixels or sumpn. I like her!! Why not just sail her through the Canal and up to San Diego? Kidding!!!! I'd be tempterd though.... A |
Subject: RE: BS: 34', 1967 Robertson Wood Boat Auctioned From: curmudgeon Date: 08 Aug 03 - 08:39 AM It's a fine looking boat, but... Once you put it on eBay, you are obliged to sell it to the highest bidder (reserve met, etc) there, even if you have a higher bid here. In the non-electronic auction world, placing an item in two auctions simultaneously would be considered fraud. My advice: keep it here for a reasonable time before going the eBay route. Better to give the commision to the 'Cat than to eBay, and better to see your boat going to a deserving 'Catter -- Tom |

Subject: RE: BS: 34', 1967 Robertson Wood Boat Auctioned From: annamill Date: 08 Aug 03 - 06:43 PM Tom, I have removed auctions from ebay before. I do a lot of dealing there. I once had, what I thought was, only a print by an unknown artist. When I started getting questions in my email about the authentication of this "print", I questioned what exactly I had. So, I removed it. It could be a painting on rice paper by a famopus vietnamese artist named Le Be Dong. I wrote and told people who asked that I felt i should have it authenicated before placing it on e-bay and selling something fake. I feel that if I have an offer here, I could remove it there. As long as you do not do it too often, it's ok. I've only done it a couple of times and far between. If I have an offer there, I would have to remove it here. I think I mentioned this up front. I would really prefer a Mudcatter had her and that Mudcat get the money. I'm broke and I need the money to get out west. EBarnacle. she lies in the water, in Sea Bright NJ, USA. Annamill |

Subject: RE: BS: 34', 1967 Robertson Wood Boat Auctioned From: Amos Date: 12 Aug 03 - 12:02 PM High Lonesome Sound (Vince Gill) When ever my soul is lonely When ever I'm feeling blue I start thinkin' 'bout my blue-eyed darlin' My heart starts pinin' for you I wanna hear that high lonesome sound 'Cause my sweet baby ain't around When my life's got me down I wanna hear that high lonesome sound When I'm lost in this ocean of darkness Not knowing which way I should turn And my eyes are filled with the sadness Of knowing you'll never return I wanna hear that high lonesome sound 'Cause my sweet baby ain't around When my life's got me down I wanna hear that high lonesome sound A |

Subject: RE: BS: 34', 1967 Robertson Wood Boat Auctioned From: annamill Date: 16 Aug 03 - 01:37 PM The auction finished but there were no buyers or even bites, so, I lowered the starting price by $1000 dollars. She really is a beautiful treasure. Those of you that might have been considering this beauty, please reconsider. Thanks, Annamill |
Subject: RE: BS: 34', 1967 Robertson Wood Boat Auctioned From: annamill Date: 20 Aug 03 - 05:56 PM Just bringing this to the top to give everyone a look-see. I can't understand why it's not going. It's a wonderful boat and dirt cheap. Maybe some of you out there can give me an idea why it might not be selling. Thank you, Annamill |
Subject: RE: BS: 34', 1967 Robertson Wood Boat Auctioned From: Amos Date: 20 Aug 03 - 07:24 PM Aw, Anna, I'd buy it in a minute, but all revenues are firmly allocated right now (college in progress). If you want to spruce up the ad a little, add some pictures of things looking shipshape, the engine room looking spiff, and so on. Sailors dig that sort of thing! A presentation of her specs and components/equipment etc might help too -- sailors are always looking over spec sheets. Love, A |
Subject: RE: BS: 34', 1967 Robertson Wood Boat Auctioned From: Allan C. Date: 20 Aug 03 - 09:13 PM Hm-m-m...Virgina Mudcatter sails solo to England in 34' wooden boat... Nope. I'd better not. It sure is tempting though. |
Subject: RE: BS: 34', 1967 Robertson Wood Boat Auctioned From: annamill Date: 24 Aug 03 - 11:51 AM We have a bid on our lady on Ebay! Yea!! It's a folksy gentleman up on Lake Erie. He says he's looking for something to love, so we know she'll be going to a good home. Thank you for listening and supporting me. One bridge closer to San Diego! Yes! Love, Annamill |
Subject: RE: BS: 34', 1967 Robertson Wood Boat Auctioned From: Amos Date: 24 Aug 03 - 12:19 PM Yay!!! Countdown! A |

Subject: RE: BS: 34', 1967 Robertson Wood Boat Auctioned From: annamill Date: 24 Aug 03 - 09:23 PM I thought that was farm out and right arm, Allan, right?? We have another person interested besides our bidder! Yikes!!Shhh.. don't jinx it Annamill. (I always talk to me, sorry) "California, here we come.... " Love, Annamill |
Subject: RE: BS: 34', 1967 Robertson Wood Boat Auctioned From: Sorcha Date: 24 Aug 03 - 11:32 PM As Allan says,,,,Hmmm, Wyoming Mudcatter sails Virgina boat to Wyoming.....Garth Brooks claims we have 'beaches in Cheyenne' but I've never seen them. Never sailed in my life either. |
Subject: RE: BS: 34', 1967 Robertson Wood Boat Auctioned From: annamill Date: 25 Aug 03 - 01:19 PM Probably lots of beaches, Sorcha. Just no water..;-) Tee Hee! It's fishing boat. You don't have to sail 'er, just turn on the engine and point her in the right direction. You'll have to come out to California, Sorcha and we'll go out on the ocean. We have a friend with a sail boat and HE does all the work. I'm just too excited! I hope this guy pays.... Love, Annamill |
Subject: RE: BS: 34', 1967 Robertson Wood Boat Auctioned From: Amos Date: 25 Aug 03 - 01:23 PM By that time I'll have a sailboat, Anna -- so get ready for a guided tour of the bay! A |
Subject: RE: BS: 34', 1967 Robertson Wood Boat Auctioned From: annamill Date: 25 Aug 03 - 04:38 PM Oh Amos, I can't wait! It will be wonderful. Glenn and I do a lot of kayaking and I am really looking forward to doing a lot of that too. In what kind of condition will I find the San Diego river? Will we be able to kayak on it or is it too dirty? We are very excited. Love, Annamill |
Subject: RE: BS: 34', 1967 Robertson Wood Boat Auctioned From: Amos Date: 25 Aug 03 - 08:51 PM Generally it is too thin for kayaking but there are some sections of it where you can do so, I have read. The great thing for kayaks here is coast-wise exploration. Love, A |
