After 10+ years of co-habitation, through troubles untold, hardships unnumbered, joys unbound, and pleasures uncounted... Long time Mudcatter Clinton Hammond and his Ladyfaire, (Unknown to Mudcat.org, and indeed to most of the internet) Sarah FitzGerald have set a date to make their commitment official.

Having now found a hall to have the ceremony and reception at, on October 16nd, 2004, we will stand before our friends, our family and before the great spirits of the unknown and the ghosts of our ancestors (and any other gate-crashers I suppose) and vow one simple word, "Forever"...

Thanks to my many chums here... Some of you helped me get here... some of you just entertained me while I travelled to this place in my life... But I value both equally!

I'd suggest running, but after 10 years, well, I suspect you know each other pretty well so I'll just say, "Congratulations."

Did you know that you forgot to mention *where* this was going to be? I'll bet some Catters would send presents or something if we knew where it was going to be. Yessir, NOBODY would think of crashing the party....

Seriously, I assume that most people will use the locator and discover that I'm still in Windsor, Ontario Canada... where I've been my whole Mudcat life...

As for the ten years thing, ya... I told her the other day that with good behaviour, if she'da tried to kill me, she'da been out by now...

She said she didn't think of it at the time...

Congratulations Clinton and Ladyfaire, now the advice I offer anyone planning their wedding.
Lock and hide your car.
Lock and hide your luggage.
Give the key to your place only to friends with no sense of humor.
That goes double for the address of your honeymoon hotel.
Be a little careful about opening your wedding gifts.
Some people like to "surprise" couples at their weddings. I admit to wrapping a motion activated "honking goose" and slipping it among a couple's wedding gifts, and my only regret is that I wasn't there, when they unwrapped it, and it started honking!

And ta think that my lady and I were together for 10 years before tying the knot. Of course, she got proposed to at a music festival... from the main stage.... in front of 10,000 people. put her on the spot.... ;-)

Tommorow - the 18th - is our anniversary. Going out on tonite for our "third honeymoon anniversary" weekend... should be back in time for work Monday morning.

You thought you were going to get away with it, didn't you, Clinton! Didn't anybody else notice that Clinton announced that the Big Day is scheduled for "October 16nd, 2004"? So when the supposed Big Day comes, and everybody's all gussied up and ready for the ceremony, he gets to put on this surprised, wide-eyed look and say, "But no, my dear, you must have misunderstood. I agreed to have a ceremony on October 16nd, but today is October 16th! So sorry."
