In the US this kind of long term bad luck is generally assoicated with baseball and usually involves either a goat or a semi-obese pitcher turned home run hitter.

So far none of the formulas for reversing the bad luck have worked here. Perhaps this is because the natives of Fiji are more sophisticated than superstitious baseball fans.

Hear about the cannibal skipping through the jungle singing "Things go better with Coca-Cola....?" Or the cannibal who asked his friend, "Watcha doing?" and getting the response "Having a ball."?

It's just as well you didn't.

I think Gareth means, like the one in the film The Wicker Man...so, wicker cages?

nothing to do with neo-pagan witchcraft, or Wicca, tho. ;)

I am fascinated by the Donner Party stry and wish someone would make a new film about it.

Please, please refrain from making these awful jokes about cannibalism. I very much regret my contributions to this thread, and have achieved a heighten consciousness of the political correctness regarding this subject. Eating other human beings isn't considered to be the best taste, you know. Even if you're pulling someone's leg, this is getting out of hand. I forebear to even discuss someone's "goose being cooked" or "getting a head." Restrain yourself, for otherwise I'm afraid that this will become disjointed instead of well-done and we'll never dig into the meat of the subject.

I too can no longer stomach this thread. It's sick. (So, what's a joint like this doing in a nice boy like you? Will you have buns with that?) It's well-thigh, sorry, well-nigh time to move on, armed with a greater sense of purpose, with a taste for decency. Humans eating humans: doesn't anyone think of f*****g anymore? You're a man in need of help, Rapaire, help. Next you'll be singing the old Simon and Garfunkle song, "Fifty Ways to Lose Your Liver."

It's "Fifty ways to eat your liver." Tsk, tsk, I guess it's a rare person who makes no miss steaks. Well, these days I guess a good chop in mouth is about all we can ask for, hmm? Anyway, Brucie, try not to stew about it if it makes your blood boil -- you may not have the guts.

I can't top that, Rapaire, so here's a gooder for you.

Guy walks into a butcher shop and says, "Give me a pound of kidley, please." The butcher say, "What?" "Give me a pound of kidley please." "Butcher screws up his eyes and says, "Huh?" Guy yells, "Give me a pound of kidley." The butcher replies, "Oh. You mean kidney don't you?" Guy says, "That's what I said, diddle I?" Have a good evening, Rapaire.

Well, good for you, Rep. You are, obviously, no mere flesh in the pan.
(Donner! Party of two!) I suppose this means the only difference between an enemy and an enema is oriface. (I gave at the orifice?). Actually, canibalism is not as barbaric as it appears. If one is to kill one's enemies, why shouldn't they eat them also? Every other animal does it. It is ecologically sound and I can't imagine that the eating is crueler than the killing. In fact, this might be the next step in recycling. Besides, what better way to rid ourselves of fortune tellers? Of course, it's rare to see a medium, well done.

At the Cannibal Cafe: Table for a party of eight? Uh, seven? Uh, six? Uh, so, you'll be dining alone?

Gives new meaning to "Eat your heart out!"

Burp. Don't remember eating that. Good, though.

Aaaah - Lttle Hawk, I weep

I try to make a pun out of Celtic and Mother Earth History, and it goes astray !!!!

Wicker = The cages the Cymry built to burn thier sacrificial animals, and tribal enemies in.

Wicca - The ancient earth goddess (= Mother Earth) a religion akin to druidism.

Or to get it into a musical contect - here are two verses abstracted fron the "Give Me that Old time Religion" website Click 'Ere

"Oh the Welsh gods, -you- announce 'em
Asking my gods to renounce 'em
But our gods, I can't pronounce 'em
Being tongue-tied's not for me!

Wrap your sacrifice in wicker
It will make the flames burn quicker
Tho the smell makes some folks sicker
It's still good enough for me! "

And no it is not true thatr my comotes symble is a Sheep. We have better things to do with the 'Woolly Backs' than burn them.

Gareth (aka Garydd ap Godfri ap Ben ... Continue for several hundred ancestors) - Or Click 'Ere

Why we Brits bothered to defend you from American Aggression in 1812 ...... etc **BG**

Back in the dim, distant past, there was a Calvin and Hobbes cartoon in which Calvin asked his teacher is they could debate the question about whether a murderer who ate his victim should be given a lighter sentence than one who didn't because the first was less wasteful than the second.

Unlike most carnivorous or omnivorious species, homo sapiens has mores about eating members of the same species.

Which, I suppose, is fortunate when you consider the male grizzly bear, who has been known to eat cubs so that the mother would go back into estrus. I mean, what a lousy pick-up technique!
