There are 23 songs on it, 53 minutes of music. It's all songs, either public domain or trad or written by me, some with banjo, some with guitar, some unaccompanied. Believe it or not, the early plans called for an even longer list, (26 songs, as I recall)but it just had to be cut. Maybe my B.W. is right about the length, but every song cut out hurt. What a wonderful mix and so well done! Took me right back to HearMe and PalTalk. I always loved it when you'd come in and sing. Folks, in the liner notes, Dave says "I am a stroyteller first, a singer second, and an instrumentalist third." As far as I am concerned he's a perfect blend of all three and very easy to listen to...I love what he does with his voice for the "stories" he relates and the pickin' is so complimentary. Don't hold the scratchy statickyness of the MP3 coming over the web against Karl. The quality of the sound he was able to put on the CD is incomparably better! Their efforts are valiant and, though I must pick and choose for reasons of taste and space, I am in awe of every artist who presents his work to a critic. I know that when my CD is reviewed, next month, I will be chanting Nancy Adler's "If you don't like me, lie!". David Oestrerreich, of Indianapolis IN, records under the nom d' disc, Uncle DaveO. He has been folksinging even longer than I have. His latest CD, THE REAL STORY!, packs no fewer than twenty three traditional tunes onto a CD, no larger than ordinary.
