??? Did he not answer a PM or something? Cuz, he's here quite often, struggling of course (who isn't) but he's been keeping open communication.... click on his name in any of his posts and you can pull up his latest posts....

The reason I'm concerned is because his latest post was to start a thread yesterday morning called "Enough Already" about having to put to sleep his 14 year old cat, and there haven't been any posts since.

Well, if you look at the whole posting history, though, there have been a number of times he posted once on one day and then not again for a day or two. Do you know him IRL? I think daylia does, have you contacted her via PM?

I don't think it is silly to be worried about a mate when they're having such a rough time of it....I think it is commendable.
