Subject: Lyr Req: SEAT BELT SONG?! Please help!
From: GUEST,Jessica
Date: 12 Feb 04 - 12:34 PM

Can anyone PLEASE help me? My boss is trying to remember the name and artist of a 1960s/70s (rock?) song that talks about a guy on a date with a girl. In the song, the couple keeps driving around town because he can't get her seat belt loose. THANK YOU!!

Now there will be a bunch of 'catters replying with the complete lyrics, and about a dozen blue clickies referencing the song and everything about Chuck Berry's life, his guitar, his family, and how many pets he owns! (;->) and a **BG**

We're a helpful bunch.

Subject: Lyr Add: NO PARTICULAR PLACE TO GO (Chuck Berry)
From: GUEST,guestmick
Date: 12 Feb 04 - 01:06 PM

It was Chuck Berry's No Particular Place to Go. I can't remember the year but it was sometime in the sixties:

Riding along in my automobile
my baby beside me at the wheel
Stole kiss at the turn of a mile
My curiosity running wild
Cruising and playing the radio
With no particular place to go

No Particular place to go
So we parked way up on the Kokomo
The night was young and the moon was gold
We both decided to take a stroll
Can you imagine the way I felt
When I couldn't unfasten her safety belt

Riding around in a calaboose
Tryin to get that belt unloose
All night long I held a grudge
For that safety belt that wouldn't budge
Cruising and playin the radio
With no particular place to go

ACK! I can't believe it was a song I know!   I didn't even recognize it, the way my boss described it. YOU ALL ARE AWESOME! Thanks for helping me; you've made our day.

Verse two:

Riding along in my automobile
Still anxious to tell her the way I feel
So I told her soft and I told her sincere
Then I leaned and whispered in her ear
Cuddling close and driving slow
With no particular place to go
