Can someone post tabs for Leadbelly's "Rock Island Line"? If not, could someone direct me to a site where they KNOW FOR CEARTAIN has these tabs/chords on it? Thanks everyone.

If your ears are good enough to know which tabs are wrong, I'd suggest that they are good enough to work out the 'right' tab.

It's a pretty simple song....

I agree. This is a three chord song. Pick a key you want to sing in. A simple chord book will show you the first, fourth, and fifth chords for any key. Or just learn the three chords in one key and use a capo.

In music, unless you are playing very serious complicated pieces in an orchestra, a good ear will progress you further as a musician than accumulating a bunch of tabs.

Listen for the changes.

Not bad ideas I guess. It would do me good to learn how to figure songs out by ear, I feel spoiled being able to get tablature and have the songs shown to me. Thanks fellas.

Nonething wrong with using the chords and words method on paper, but tab on a three chord song?
