Slats:

May I be the first to welcome you aboard the mad ship which is the Mudcat. May you find here a group of like minds which will provide answers to queries musical & otherwise.

I was amazed to see a new member who posts first to the FAQs. I sometimes get the impression some of the long term members haven't read them.

Anyway, once more, WELCOME!

CHEERS

Nigel

Slats is an old mate from Kent. Sometimes referred to as "Streaky", he has been a member of many folk groups including: - The Crayfolk, String Vest, Skinner's Rats (still often in the lineup), and currently Slattery. He was also involved in running both Dartford and Farningham Folk Clubs. He was a member of Hartley Morris and is the current (and I think was the founding) squire of Waddard Morris.

On a few occasions in the year he acts as a "locum" landlord at "The Fenn Bell" and we usually have a great session there during these periods. The last one had quite a few mudcatters in attendance.

His delightfully shaped wife, dances with Bishop's Gundulph morris, gives wonderful cuddles and once stripped down to her amply-filled bra at a Leigh Folk Festival session - I just happened to say "Don't stop there" when she took her sweatshirt off ! (Amos - I think she needs something more meaty than a fruit). Incidently, what's her mudcat name ?

Greetings, Slats.

That's a nice name you have there. Does anyone ever call you "Slatner"?

I was just asking because some of the inmates here call me "Shats" and I thought we might be cousins or something.

Live long and prosper.

Welcome Slats. If you are a mainstay of Wadard, I expect I ougth to know you. I stil haven't recovered from your bloody fool ducknapping and hanging my little duck, whichever year that was! And those poor Ashdown Forest blokes on the bus who knew nothing about the ransom note which he forged their name on...
Quack!

Val - there's still no sign of Dilligaf as a Mudcat member - come on sign up - it only takes a minute or so. It's not difficult having different catters using the same PC - you just have to remember to check who you're logged logged in as (In fact which is the current cookie) when you come on site. Probably the easiest way is to select "Login" (and click "Go") from the "Quick Links" drop-down menu at the top of the screen. If it's aready set to your name, just press the "Back" button on the browser and continue, if not enter your name and password. Both myself and Essex Girl use the same PC at home, and recently we had a lady called Avril who kept logging in as well !

Pardon me, but it seems that Slats has now disappeared and been completely replaced by Dilligaf...... Is this normal?

I don't know about completely replaced, but it's great to have the lady posting under her own mudcat name, rather than her husband's.

Dilligaf - you a poor innocent ? - the very thought has got Linda and myself laughing so much, that we're probably both probably going to need to change our underwear. The question is will poor innocents like 'Spaw be safe with you on the cat - after they dont know what Dilligaf means !

Great to hear from you - keep on looking in.

if you try to vierw the anim ated cards from the Morris team,
you wil need a VRML viewer, and if you get one of those,
you can tour theses castles, abbeys and such:http://www.timeref.com/3dindex.htm
the Cortona VRML viewer from Parallel graphics brings them to life.
and you can also see the Morris christmas cards

Really for Geoff the duck's benefit, who by looks of things is still wondering if he met Slats at the time of the famous duck-napping at Sevenoaks: no, you would not have met each other. Nor would you have met Dilligaf. I can think of at least three Wadard men from those days who are no longer with the side (one, sadly, no longer with us at all - but no more of that)and I couldn't say that one of them was not the 'guilty' one. Geoff - you should have a look at www.wadard.co.uk . There are some piccies somewhere on the site and perhaps you might recognise some faces.

Me? Remember the famous stick-winning Whitby Prize Scratch Morris?

If you were the infamous Whitby Prize Scratch Morris? does that mean you are Steve?
Quack!
