Subject: RE: PTH Spring Social From: Oaklet Date: 31 Mar 04 - 04:25 AM The daffodils are nodding in cordial agreement with the gentle easterly breeze and winter's tired wiry deadness is surrendering beakful by beakful to the eager nesting birds in this part of the Humber's southern bank. Even the stench from Benson's tripe works is moderated by the watery Spring sunshine. Mrs Drinkall from No 21 is wearing a summer dress beneath her tartan coat and has dispensed with the severe paisley turban. Oh, and the contractors have finally finished resurfacing the A1077 outside my house. What a nice thread. |

Subject: RE: PTH Spring Social From: The DeanMeister Date: 06 Apr 04 - 10:35 AM I believe the correct response would be "What colour would you like it, Eric?" Subject: RE: PTH Spring Social From: Les from Hull Date: 07 Apr 04 - 11:46 AM I'm more familiar with orange the fruit than with orange the cheese, jOhn, so you can keep it out of my letterbox, please. (You'd never get past the Dagger Lane Ninja Guard Rats, anyway). In the words of Les Barker (Poet and Train Spotter) 'There's Cheddar and Cheshire and Lancashire, too Leicester's bright orange and Stilton is blue It waxes so lyrical what can you do but sing Oh the hard cheese of old England, In Old England, very hard cheese' I might go and see that Punch the Horse if I'm doing nowt (as my arm is getting better now). |
Subject: RE: PTH Spring Social From: The DeanMeister Date: 07 Apr 04 - 12:07 PM You can be my string engineer again, Les! John the Harp was on duty last sunday. Very useful he was too. On a serious note, what sites do people use for downloading music tracks? I'm trying to locate some old standards for the new band and compile a cd with them all on. Any recommendations, folks? |
Subject: RE: PTH Spring Social From: s6k Date: 07 Apr 04 - 12:16 PM you could always try Kazaa, or the probably now-superior LimeWire, or bit torrent. these 3 are the dominating forces in peer to peer sharing. you cannot get kazaa lite any more, which is kazaa but it loads faster and has no advertising etc. but you can still get the normal kazaa, always helpful. I havent tried LimeWire but i hear good things about it, and even that it may be better then kazaa. its just a shame audiogalaxy closed down. |

Subject: RE: PTH Spring Social From: Sir Roger de Beverley Date: 15 Apr 04 - 03:43 AM Well somebody must have drunk a lot of beer - there were only two bitters on by Tuesday night when we went in for our session. Were there a lot of people in the pub on Sunday? R |

Subject: RE: PTH Spring Social From: Sir Roger de Beverley Date: 15 Apr 04 - 07:41 AM He claimed on Tuesday that he hadn't had deliveries of stuff that he had ordered - seems to be a recurrent problem with Enterprise Inns that own the pub (along with about 9000 others)- Steve had the same thing happen a few times. Or is the hush a result of other influences, we have learnt recently of Deanmeister sexual pecadillo's, perhaps Oakley is a closet naturalist who at this very moment is pracing naked along the banks of the Humber, whilst KJ (a secret voyeur, perhaps)binoculars in hand is watching from across the waters. Bassic may be wrapping himself in cling film at this exact second to indulge in his whimsical fantasies with a melon and a cheese grater. Why the lack of idiocy girls and boys, hands full? |
