Subject: RE: BS: New book on Senator Clinton From: Stilly River Sage Date: 10 May 04 - 03:14 PM Perhaps you should also ask yourselves who is Dick Morris, author of the book our conservative Mudcatter has linked to? http://www.cnn.com/ALLPOLITICS/1996/analysis/time/9609/02/morris.shtml With apologies to the candidates, Morris may be the most intriguing character in this campaign. And what's astonishing about him is that he sits at the right hand of a President who cannot quite trust him. He's a Democrat turned Republican turned Democrat again, a longtime Clinton adviser who for two years traveled the country telling Republicans that in 1996 Clinton would be defeated--if not indicted. Which begs a question: How did such a rogue become the most influential private citizen in America? ALSO From Sept. 1996 http://www.cnn.com/ALLPOLITICS/1996/news/9608/29/morris/index.shtml CHICAGO (AllPolitics, Aug. 29) -- Dick Morris, the political consultant who reshaped President Bill Clinton's re-election campaign and moved the president to the center, abruptly resigned today. Senior White House staff met this morning after learning of unsubtantiated reports in The New York Post and the tabloid newspaper, The Star, that claimed Morris let a $200-an-hour escort listen in on his private conversations with the president. A senior White House official confronted Morris about the stories and allegations contained in the stories, and, without going into detail, a source told CNN, "We had to cut him loose." Just for perspective. SRS |

Subject: RE: BS: New book on Senator Clinton From: DougR Date: 11 May 04 - 12:43 AM I saw this book at Barnes and Noble. When it comes out in paperback I might buy it. Morris was in a position to know a lot of insider stuff about the Clintons. If I learn anything useful, I'll post it. DougR |
