Thanks for posting that Leraud. Have a good time this Thursday during my absence in Ireland. I'm sorry to be missing Pete.

My MC duties for that evening will be taken over by Mr Chris Pitt so treat him gently any singers that turn up.

Pete Morton played at the National Folk Festival in Canberra (Australia) this year, and around the folk clubs, and was a very popular performer. We're hoping he'll come back soon

Oh yes - he's been here twice that I know of, and has made a big impression on lots of us Oz folks.

My favourite song of his - "Another Train". Yes, we would like him back soon!

Did I hear that Pete will be taking over management of Whitby Folk Week, or did I get that wrong? If it's Pete, will this mean a change in the style of music that's performed at Whitby?

I can't say much, because I don't know about the festival. However, I can tell you that Peter is very much a fan of traditional music as well as an excellent writer. If you are worrying that he might bring in hordes of;"Hear My Pain" type songwriters, you are troubling yourselves unnecessarily.

No,quite the reverse, I'm a big fan of Pete's, particularly his versions of the Big Ballads. I think it will be a 'Good Thing'.

Pete has visited Israel every year for the last three years, bringing wonderful folk music, and a message of peace, tolerance and brotherhood. More power to him- we certainly appreciate his efforts- and enjoy his music.

Also Pete will be at The Tump Folk Music Club at The Royal British Legion, Brinklow nr Rugby on Thursday August 12th.

Pete is planning a Christmas show this year as well, The show is Pete and two other permanant musicians. Most likely Damian Barber and Maggie Boyle. Although its more of a radio script type thing that includes locals to join in.

AT LAST THE TRUE STORY OF THE FARMERS BOY.!! THIS RIDICULOUS COMEDY UNEARTHS THE FACTS THAT HAVE ELUDED HISTORIANS FOR THE LAST 200 YEARS.
FROM HIS ARRIVAL ONE COLD AND BITTER CHRISTMAS TO HIS RISE TO RURAL POWER A FEW CHRISTMAS' LATER ARE ALL TOLD IN THIS PERFORMANCE. LOCAL SINGERS AND SCRIPT READERS WILL BE INVOLVED IN ALL SHOWS WITH PLENTY OF AUDIENCE PARTICIPATION. WRITTEN AND NARRATED BY PETE MORTON.

If Pete is taking over Whitby, is Malcolm Storey taking over Sidmouth?
