What do you guys think about Fibber McGee's in Galway taking a public stand against the ban on smoking in pubs in Ireland? Is this the start of a counter-revolution or a play for publicity?

If this is the place I think is, when we were there, it had bad food, warm beer and people were ignoring the ban all along. Our worst visit to a pub in three visits to Ireland.

What I saw in yesterdays Irish Independent online the landlord had recanted, after raids by the Garda and health inspectors and threats of jail! Apparently customers were tipped off that the raids were coming.

Bertie is not best pleased!!

I think the owner of this place was interviewed yesterday. I heard it on one of my National Public Radio programs. Guy sounds like a damned fool, and is in denial about the health risks involved with all of that smoke.
