Subject: BS: There'd better be a rainbow bridge... From: katlaughing Date: 03 Aug 04 - 10:30 AM My darling Kelpie, my little black-shot-with-gold-patches cat died in my arms this morning. I am going to miss her so much. I am so grateful that she was part of our family. She even posted to Mudcat once. I love you, Kelpie, seeyasoon, "mom"/kat |

Katdarling, so sorry to hear that...it's always so hard to lose a family member....and don't fret she will be there waiting for you...waiting to cuddle in your arms again, and bestow upon you the honour of loving and petting her. |
Subject: RE: BS: There'd better be a rainbow bridge... From: Ellenpoly Date: 03 Aug 04 - 12:07 PM So sorry for your loss. I've had three of my favorite cats (all belonging to friends, but I was there when they departed this dimension) go to Kitty Heaven (and yes, they do let us visit, if we remember to bring goodies) so I can at least let you know that they're a great bunch, and are always looking for a fourth for scrabble. ..xx..e |

Subject: RE: BS: There'd better be a rainbow bridge... From: Joybell Date: 03 Aug 04 - 07:19 PM Our wonderful Slasher will keep her company. We called her that because we thought her old name "Fluffy" was not good for her self-esteem. True-love played his banjo for her while the vet helped her on her last journey. She just loved banjo music. Of course there's a rainbow bridge. It goes to Summerland. My Grandma talked about it. Gentle warm thoughts Kat. Joy |

Subject: RE: BS: There'd better be a rainbow bridge... From: catspaw49 Date: 03 Aug 04 - 11:57 PM Certainly there is a Rainbow Bridge. There has to be. Sorry kat.....We were just talking of her last week. No words will do as you know. But remeber that right now there is another cat out there looking for you. I am completely convinced that Roamin was looking for Karen as much as she was looking for him. Luvya Spaw |
Subject: RE: BS: There'd better be a rainbow bridge... From: Metchosin Date: 04 Aug 04 - 01:20 AM I'm sure there is too, kat. So sorry for your loss, they leave such big holes in our hearts, for such small beings. |
Subject: RE: BS: There'd better be a rainbow bridge... From: AllisonA(Animaterra) Date: 04 Aug 04 - 06:18 AM Oh, my love, I'm so sorry. Just before I opened this thread, Ophelia-kitty curled up in my lap and is purring assurance to you that Kelpie's spirit is purring still. Our pet-companions are here to teach us about love. Love never dies, this I know. Blessings on you now and always. Love, Allison |
Subject: RE: BS: There'd better be a rainbow bridge... From: Pied Piper Date: 04 Aug 04 - 06:43 AM What a load of puerile Technicolor-yawn inducing rubbish. Godsy wodsy will sort it for kidywinkies to meat their pettsy wetsies when the diddly die. |
Subject: RE: BS: There'd better be a rainbow bridge... From: JenEllen Date: 04 Aug 04 - 11:27 AM Of course there is, love. And it leads to a place where the streets are paved with salmon, catnip grows on every corner, none of the windows have screens, all the can-openers work on 'mind control', and all the mice have limps and are blind in one eye. Your fur-bearing niece and nephews send you all our love today, as always, and I do too. ~Yergoil |

Subject: RE: BS: There'd better be a rainbow bridge... From: Tig Date: 04 Aug 04 - 05:01 PM I know it hurts Kat - but it's all part of the hard bit of being a hoomin. Person I feel sorry for is the one who lost a little golden queen on our square earlier this week. Everyone thought she must be one of ours but she wasn't and we can't find out who her owner was despite asking around. At least you know what happened to Kelpie. Hugs, Tig xxx |

Subject: RE: BS: There'd better be a rainbow bridge... From: katlaughing Date: 04 Aug 04 - 07:43 PM Thanks, ya'll. I know there is, but it just isn't easy, is it? I am grateful for her time with us and that she was in my arms when she died. I appreciate your kind words. The 3 Stooges: Kipling, Trystan, and Charlee are at a loss right now, not sure what to make of no matriarch, but little Emily (our daughter's Siamese female) is working on that.:-) luvyakat |
Subject: RE: BS: There'd better be a rainbow bridge... From: Tig Date: 05 Aug 04 - 01:30 PM I know what you mean Kat - our *Pride* get extremely upset when anything happens to one of them. They even hunt for kitties they know have gone to new Humans for a few hours and get very excited if anyone comes back. |
Subject: RE: BS: There'd better be a rainbow bridge... From: Fiona Date: 05 Aug 04 - 07:06 PM I think it's often underestimated how hard the loss of a pet can hit you. I cried for days after our last dog died and I felt so apologetic, as if I should have been able to shrug it off since it was 'just a dog'. Eventually I had a dream (I rarely remember my dreams so it was unusual for me) where Axel and I were walking up a heavily wooded hill, not a place I've ever been in real life. He was running on ahead as he did and after a while he got quite far in front of me. He then stopped and turned and looked at me for quite a long time, before trotting off purposefully on his own. I felt he had said goodbye, so I waited till he was out of sight then I turned and walked back. Not a rainbow bridge I know, but I felt he knew where he was going and was happy to go on without us. Eight years on I still miss him at times, just like any other family member. Hope your hurt heals quickly, Fiona |

Subject: RE: BS: There'd better be a rainbow bridge... From: katlaughing Date: 20 Aug 04 - 08:05 PM Seventeen days later and my beloved Ms. Lovee had to be put down this morning. Not a good month for mogs at my house! She had a wonderful past few months living at my brother's house, away from the "bully boys: Trystan and Kipling," so I am grateful for that. I do believe there is a rainbow bridge, it's just hard saying goodbye. |

Subject: RE: BS: There'd better be a rainbow bridge... From: GUEST,McGrath of Harlow Date: 21 Aug 04 - 12:51 PM That's rough, kat. We had to say goodbye to our Tabitha after fourteen years last Monday. And that was only a couple of months after her sister Tilly. Years ago I wrote a song when Tabitha went missing, and we'd thought she'd gone for good till she turned up again - takes on a new meaning now "Little Cat has gone for sure" |
Subject: RE: BS: There'd better be a rainbow bridge... From: GUEST Date: 21 Aug 04 - 01:09 PM Thanks, Morti. Ms. Lovee loved your LFU. She got to know him in HearMe and over the phone. She always would run into the computer room whenever she heard his voice and he'd always talk to her. I'd look at her and say, "Ms. Lovee loves her Micca!" and she'd give me that squinted-eye Siamese love-look. Kevin, I remember when you wrote/posted that song. Thanks so much for the reminder of it. Can't help but cry while listening to it. Sorry you've lost them both so close together, too. The others are doing their best to keep me smiling. |

Subject: RE: BS: There'd better be a rainbow bridge... From: Bat Goddess Date: 22 Aug 04 - 11:43 AM She can look up Foolish and Marmalade -- they'll take care of her. And Tractor, Peppersass and Calliope . . . I miss 'em all. But they WILL be there on the other side of the rainbow bridge to greet us. (And are firmly entrenched in our thoughts and memories now.) Hugs and sympathy, Linn |
