Subject: RE: Towersey Folk Festival....whos going?? From: GUEST,Crystal Date: 20 Aug 04 - 07:12 PM I'm going. I steward at the kids festival but I'll be around as much as possible, especially anything involving singing, or dancing. I'll probably be clutching a big, green, furry haggis and looking bemused and lost, I've been doing somthing similar for the past 12 years after all. |
Subject: RE: Towersey Folk Festival....whos going?? From: Morticia Date: 20 Aug 04 - 07:24 PM Pixie and I will be there, also looking bemused but clutching tankards which would explain it. |
Subject: RE: Towersey Folk Festival....whos going?? From: fiddler Date: 20 Aug 04 - 07:51 PM I'll be there as usual - look in the barn or the side of the road from Friday night! I relax at this one!!!! Hurrah!!!! Hurrah Andy |
Subject: RE: Towersey Folk Festival....whos going?? From: Liz the Squeak Date: 21 Aug 04 - 03:02 AM A green furry haggis? Surely you know they are out of season by the end of July? Or is it a real haggis that you've just had for a very long time..... I've got some nice pills which will make it go away if you like..... LTS |

Subject: RE: Towersey Folk Festival....whos going?? From: MBSLynne Date: 23 Aug 04 - 05:51 AM Oh, is it no ticket in the barn? That's was where I spent most of my time when I was last at Towersey. I wonder if I can escape for a day and get there and have a sing...? Can't afford tickets or to camp but if I can get there.... Love Lynne |
Subject: RE: Towersey Folk Festival....whos going?? From: GUEST Date: 23 Aug 04 - 05:59 AM Oh yes the Barn is free, and they have their own supply of yummy ale as well. |
Subject: RE: Towersey Folk Festival....whos going?? From: Gervase Date: 23 Aug 04 - 06:12 AM Curses - for the first time in years I won't be there. I'll have withdrawal symptoms all weekend thinking of you lot in the barn, but there's too much work to do on the wreck out here in west Wales and the piggy bank's looking anorexic. |
Subject: RE: Towersey Folk Festival....whos going?? From: Catherine Jayne Date: 23 Aug 04 - 06:19 AM Sorry you can't make it Gervase, I was looking forward to hearing you sing again. We will have a drink or 3 for you!! Hope to see you soon |
Subject: RE: Towersey Folk Festival....whos going?? From: MBSLynne Date: 23 Aug 04 - 06:31 AM Do they have decent cider? After a week of Thatchers at Sidmouth I find I can't go back to drinking yukky Strongbow Love Lynne |
Subject: RE: Towersey Folk Festival....whos going?? From: Ian Date: 23 Aug 04 - 07:57 AM I will be there mainly in the barn. Is there a singaround in the barn on Fiday night? I can never remember. Ian |
Subject: RE: Towersey Folk Festival....whos going?? From: Morticia Date: 23 Aug 04 - 09:13 AM Not an organised sing a round no, but we usually burst into song in the pub, whether people like it or not,LOL. Be lovely to see you Lynne, if you can make it ( should we organise an escape commitee?). Sorry you won't be there Gervase, perhaps we should all feel guilty that we aren't there with you, wielding spades and other manly artisan type devices......but I'll settle for raising a tankard in honour of the project, if that's okay? |
Subject: RE: Towersey Folk Festival....whos going?? From: My guru always said Date: 23 Aug 04 - 04:07 PM Am really hoping to get along (not been before) on the Monday after the weekend at Bridgenorth - I expect it would bew a criminal offence to pass by on the way home. See you all in the Barn!!! Am wondering where to put the caravan till I can resume my journey towards work on Tuesday.... |
Subject: RE: Towersey Folk Festival....whos going?? From: Richard Atkins Date: 23 Aug 04 - 09:38 PM The thread Towersea Bridgenorth has been closed.I wonder why? I go to Bridgenorth now, more friendly atmosphere and more folkie stewards than security. However the Barn Sings at The Three Horseshoes are one of the best and not to be missed. |
Subject: RE: Towersey Folk Festival....whos going?? From: Ian Date: 25 Aug 04 - 11:36 AM You could consider putting the caravan in the main car park field. ian |
Subject: RE: Towersey Folk Festival....whos going?? From: My guru always said Date: 25 Aug 04 - 11:44 AM Ian: thanks! sounds good if there's no height restriction & no need for tickets??? |
Subject: RE: Towersey Folk Festival....whos going?? From: Dave Bryant Date: 27 Aug 04 - 03:47 AM My caravan's in the university car park, so I'll be off straight from work, picking up Linda at Northolt. We'll be on a CL caravan site east of Oxford, a bit of a drive away, but should be at the pub/barn tonight. This weather doesn't look too good for anyone in a tent, and if the main camp site gets very muddy, it could also be a problem for caravans as well. |
Subject: RE: Towersey Folk Festival....whos going?? From: Gervase Date: 27 Aug 04 - 04:43 AM Many of you are probably already en route, but for those that aren't have a great time and sing one for me! That barn's going to get pretty sweaty and humid over the next few days - so don't get trench foot or anything nasty. And, if you're camping, good luck with those Chiltern winds. I'll keep an eye peeled here at the edge of the Irish Sea for odd shreds of gazebo heading westwards! |
Subject: RE: Towersey Folk Festival....whos going?? From: Herga Kitty Date: 27 Aug 04 - 01:24 PM Have just got home from Whitby (Lynne - the pubs sell Old Rosie cider, if you can ever get there). I expect to be in the barn for Sunday lunchtime, if not longer. Kitty |
Subject: RE: Towersey Folk Festival....whos going?? From: The Unicorn Man Date: 28 Aug 04 - 01:21 PM I am going, but a little later than I had hoped. I will be there on Sunday morning. Yippeeeeee. |
Subject: RE: Towersey Folk Festival....whos going?? From: GUEST Date: 28 Aug 04 - 01:32 PM Never mind better late than never!!!!!!. |
Subject: RE: Towersey Folk Festival....whos going?? From: The Unicorn Man Date: 30 Aug 04 - 06:03 PM True but I felt a bit illish and although I bought a season ticket, and I did not get there until Sunday afternoon, I went home early Sunday evening. Oh well there is always Dunstable (next weekend) Thread on Mudcat. |
Subject: RE: Towersey Folk Festival....whos going?? From: Liz the Squeak Date: 31 Aug 04 - 09:00 AM Well who made it back then? I did, my Towersey Tan is coming off in about 20 mins when the bath is ready (Towersey tan = mud - there was quite a bit of it but not as much as there could have been!) It was a jolly weekend and it was great to meed a few new mudcatters. Sorry if I was a bit spaced out - it was a fraught week last week! LTS |
