Subject: BS: edwards a sore loser!!! From: red_clay Date: 04 Nov 04 - 08:56 AM boy, talk about sour grapes!!!! edwards rant and raged during the concession period wednedsday morning! i didnt vote for them, but kerry was a very gracious and humble person about his loss!edwards needs to learn a thing or two!GLAD HE'S GONE!!!TOUGH TITTY,JOHN!!!! |
Subject: RE: BS: edwards a sore loser!!! From: Paco Rabanne Date: 04 Nov 04 - 09:04 AM I watched Kerry's speech on the telly, i thought he was going to burst into tears at one point! How could you hope to defeat the French with a President who cries all the time? At least Bush doesn't blub! |
Subject: RE: BS: edwards a sore loser!!! From: mg Date: 04 Nov 04 - 11:04 AM I just heard Kerry on the radio and it was a very good speech. I think he might have made a good president, but came in with too much baggage to win, and he probably has an important role to play as elder statesman etc. mg |
Subject: RE: BS: edwards a sore loser!!! From: Stilly River Sage Date: 04 Nov 04 - 11:09 AM He came in with too much character and intellectual capacity. Bush worked very hard to cut Kerry down to his own level (called the "lowest common denominator"). As usual, red_clay, you're way out in right field--Edwards' speech was quite good, no sour grapes at all. |
Subject: RE: BS: edwards a sore loser!!! From: GUEST,Nancy King at work Date: 04 Nov 04 - 05:38 PM I didn't hear Edwards' speech, but if he was out of sorts it might have been because, in addition to losing the election, his wife has just been diagnosed with breast cancer. Not a good week for that family. I hope all goes well for them. |
Subject: RE: BS: edwards a sore loser!!! From: Jack the Sailor Date: 04 Nov 04 - 05:43 PM Edwards was preparing the faithful for the next fight. Think of it as the first speech for the 2008 campaign. He's a politician, that's what politicians do. It was Kerry's place to try to reach out to the other side and try to heel the wounds. Its clear that Bush isn't interested in what the other side thinks, though he did give lip service to cooperation. |
Subject: RE: BS: edwards a sore loser!!! From: Once Famous Date: 04 Nov 04 - 05:55 PM give it up Jack. Kerry lost What's clear to you is that it's time for another beer. |
Subject: RE: BS: edwards a sore loser!!! From: GUEST,Goofy Date: 04 Nov 04 - 06:04 PM It's a sorry piece of shit that can't win in his home state. Like Gore Goofy |
Subject: RE: BS: edwards a sore loser!!! From: Bill Hahn//\\ Date: 04 Nov 04 - 06:28 PM JOhn Edwards---sorry to say I did not hear his speech--but I did catch Cheney---gloating with pure evil glinting in his eye. Talk about "sore winners"---only 1 notch up from Dubya. Bill Hahn |
Subject: RE: BS: edwards a sore loser!!! From: Genie Date: 04 Nov 04 - 06:48 PM Kerry and Edwards, by rights, should not have conceded so early. Ohio may be a lost cause, but Florida wasn't. Almost 40% of the state voted absentee -- way more "open" votes than would be needed to make up the "official" Nov. 2 margin -- and those votes would HAVE to have been counted if the Democrats demanded it. Even if the absentee votes didn't give Kerry the win, it might have tipped the Senate race to the Democrats, or maybe some Congressional races. I wish NO candidate would officially concede till ALL the ballots were counted. The voters deserve that. |
Subject: RE: BS: edwards a sore loser!!! From: DougR Date: 04 Nov 04 - 06:52 PM I think Jack's right on this one. Edwards was just firing the first salvo in the 2008 campaign. His way of letting the Democratic leadership know that he is available to run for the top spot next election. Of course Kerry may be in the race again too. As well as Hillery, Howard Dean, Al Sharpton, Al Gore, etc., etc., etc. DougR |
Subject: RE: BS: edwards a sore loser!!! From: GUEST,ken Date: 04 Nov 04 - 06:58 PM Heck, give him a bottle of scotch ( the base of the family fortune) and a car and Ted Kennedy will run/drive for Presdident in 2008 too. |
Subject: RE: BS: edwards a sore loser!!! From: red_clay Date: 04 Nov 04 - 07:15 PM oh my,guest ken!!! ted kennedy is so full of s**t!maybe you do not remember, but i remember very well that he drove off the bridge at chapaquidick and thyat a sweet little gal mary jo kopecknee, drown as a result! he tried his best to get it covered up someway...even tried to get his buddies to cover for him!!!don't remember???...well it was JULY 1969...the same day that neil armstrong landed on the moon!!!!how soon we forget! |
Subject: RE: BS: edwards a sore loser!!! From: Bobert Date: 04 Nov 04 - 07:42 PM Well, I heard John Edwards speech and thought, giving the circumstances, was a decent speech. Heu look, therre is no "mandate" here, just as there was no mandate when Bush lost the lection 2000, so what is the opposition party supposed to do? Like roll over like a dead dog? Hardly. Would Tom Jefferson roll over like a dead dog? Heck no, he wouldn't. So now it's time for the Dem fraternity to figure out how to chip away at the 3% of the voting population to see how they can chip away at the margin. Energizing your folks is a given 'casue those folks represent yer 48% and you can't just tell them to go home, lay out by the street with their feet in the air like a dead dog. Fir anyone who has followed American politics for any lenght of time, Edwards speech falls into the Campaigns 001, a non credit remedial course in politics to get one up to the knowledge level of the average animal cracker... Bobert |
Subject: RE: BS: edwards a sore loser!!! From: katlaughing Date: 04 Nov 04 - 07:57 PM I heard both speeches and thought Edwards sounded very good. IF any of you thought otherwise, maybe you were *picking* up on the fact that his wife, Elizabeth, had just received news, that day, that she has breast cancer. I wish them well. |
Subject: RE: BS: edwards a sore loser!!! From: Bobert Date: 04 Nov 04 - 07:59 PM Nah, Kat... It's the usual cast of Bushites who are so barinwashed they know not of what they speak... The speech was good. Bobert |
Subject: RE: BS: edwards a sore loser!!! From: GUEST,Frank Date: 05 Nov 04 - 09:54 AM Thank goodness that Edwards had the guts to stand up and not roll over to the theft of this election. Bush is a cheating winner. Frank |
Subject: RE: BS: edwards a sore loser!!! From: GUEST,Fronk Date: 05 Nov 04 - 10:00 AM Frank is a crybaby sore looser. Want a lolly pop? |

Subject: RE: BS: edwards a sore loser!!! From: Big Mick Date: 05 Nov 04 - 02:14 PM Good sauce here would be to imagine what you would be saying if your guy had to deliver the speech. I am sure it would be much worse. Mick |
Subject: RE: BS: edwards a sore loser!!! From: Nerd Date: 05 Nov 04 - 02:16 PM I think Martin Gibson wants you to spank him, Frank. At least it looks like an invitation to me! |
Subject: RE: BS: edwards a sore loser!!! From: PoppaGator Date: 05 Nov 04 - 02:54 PM It was certainly a new low in bad taste, intentional or not, for red_clay to conclude his opening post with the words "TOUGH TITTY." |
