Subject: Luke kelly in England From: cockneyjohn Date: 06 Dec 04 - 10:19 AM I was born in London to Irish parents and grew up listening to the Dubliners and Clancys etc. The songs that Luke kelly sang always stood out for me and from Des Geraghtys book on Luke I realise that he picked many of these from his time in England with Ewan Macoll. In the book there is a picture of Luke in Bewdley entitled 'Luke with friends in Bewdley,1962,including Liam and Seamus Mulready Mulready family album,Birmingham)' There is no further mention of this time in the book.I now live in Bewdley and would love to know more.I sing and play in the local pubs and would love to do a couple of Lukes songs if he visited any of these. |
