Subject: RE: BS: 10 Mudcat Advice for Success Tips!! From: Peter T. Date: 07 Jan 05 - 05:02 PM Thanks to all -- a nice mix of sarcasm and true truths. a few more I have thought of to improve your life: (1) When in a restaurant which is playing terrible music (often two or three different sounds are on at the same time!) ask to have it turned down. You will be surprised at the many times no one on the staff has the slightest idea that the music is on, or that anyone is noticing. (2) always sit in an aisle seat in the movies, so you can move away from talkers. Don't forget to bring food or drink to the movies to save money! (3) If you are a reader, by one of those minilight flashlights. You will be surprised how many extra minutes you will get in a day in dark taxis, etc., to read. yours, Peter T. |
Subject: RE: BS: 10 Mudcat Advice for Success Tips!! From: Dewey Date: 18 Jan 05 - 01:39 AM Ask and it shall be given unto you Seek and ye shall find Knock and it shall be opened unto you For everyone that asketh recieveth And he that seeketh findeth And to him that knocketh It shall be open Basically this scripture says: when you can do nothing of your own accord, try applied faith. Call on a higher organizing power that yourself (i.e. God) someone who knows you have need of a thing beforeyou even ask. For he is the great architect of the universe. Consider the lillies of the field They do not toil, neither do they spin Yet you father (God) feeds them Are they not better the you? You have a mind, you have a soul, and you have a prupose in this great cosmos, God did not build a great stair case to heaven if there weren't a purpose to it all. Believe in yourself and listen to the impulsive thoughts of the almighty who is youtr intuition. We are NOT seperate from God, unfortunately we have grwon to believe that we are and as a reslut of thoughts and action are limited, Ask God (your source) for good things in faith that you will recieve them and be confident that you will have as you will. "According to your faith be it unto you!" "To him that hath, shall more be given, to him that hath not, even that which he has shall be taken away!" (remember this when you are working on a project or a goal, your state of mind will attract good things and retain your strength and faith) "If a man ask for a fish, will he give him a serpent? If ye being evil (imperfect) know how to give good things to your children, how much MORE will you heaven father (the creator of your mind and the universe) give unto him that asks." Dewey |

Subject: RE: BS: 10 Mudcat Advice for Success Tips!! From: Bee-dubya-ell Date: 18 Jan 05 - 02:52 PM 1) Do what you love to do and the world will reward you. Just expect to have to do a helluva lot of it. 2) There is no musical instrument so primitive or inexpensive that you cannot make beautiful music on it, with the possible exception of a Washburn D-10 guitar. 3) Unless you plan on entering a genuine profession, it makes no difference what you get your university degree in. The primary function of a degree is to show potential employers that you are willing to do stupid shit just because you are told to. (Employers like that trait in people.) They are going to teach you what they want you to know anyway. 4) Always pack some warm clothes when you travel, even if it's the middle of summer. It's hard to find a jacket in Kokomo, Indiana when the temperature is at an all-time record low for mid-August. |
