Subject: BS: Rattling The Cage From: Jerry Rasmussen Date: 10 Jan 05 - 11:15 AM I notice that whenever Mudcat settles down a little, someone starts a thread about MG. It's a sure-fire winner. How entertaining can you get? Someone says something nasty about MG (or he says something nasty about someone else,) and the thread is off and running. Guaranteed to go over 100 posts. It quickly descends into name calling and what passes for bathroom humor. At this point, it really doesn't make any difference who starts it, because it has become a Mudcat tradition. Sure is an odd form of entertainment for everyone... not just MG who at least acknowledges that that's his primary reason for doing it. Now, to test my hypothesis, let's see if this thread hits 100 posts. It' got to be a winner... it has MG's name in it... Count me out, though.. Jerry |
Subject: RE: BS: Rattling The Cage From: Crystal Date: 10 Jan 05 - 11:18 AM Will this be the first new cage rattle of 2005? |
Subject: RE: BS: Rattling The Cage From: GUEST,Penelope Rutledge Date: 10 Jan 05 - 11:35 AM Indeed. The moment I saw the title of this thread I thought, "Ah-hah! Another thread about Martin Gibson." It's all so utterly predictable, isn't it? Martin Gibson isn't worth talking about in my opinion, but he does seem to keep a certain contingent here entertained on a regular basis. Like pig swill or suppositories, I suppose he serves a useful purpose of some kind... * PRW-J |
Subject: RE: BS: Rattling The Cage From: Rapparee Date: 10 Jan 05 - 11:36 AM MG? Mary Garvey? I don't think that anyone's posted anything about Machine Guns lately, Jerry, so it can't be about them. However, just in case it is, here's a couple of links: M-60E3. M2. I couldn't find anything on Mary Garvey, though. |
Subject: RE: BS: Rattling The Cage From: Jerry Rasmussen Date: 10 Jan 05 - 11:40 AM Of course, MG could mean many things... Monkey Gravy, for example. So far, though, no one has yet started a thread about monkey gravy.. Jerry |
Subject: RE: BS: Rattling The Cage From: Rapparee Date: 10 Jan 05 - 11:43 AM I will if you want me to. |
Subject: RE: BS: Rattling The Cage From: Jerry Rasmussen Date: 10 Jan 05 - 11:54 AM It would be sure to hit 100 posts, Rap.. :-) Jerry |
Subject: RE: BS: Rattling The Cage From: SINSULL Date: 10 Jan 05 - 12:16 PM 15 minutes and 9 posts. Monkey Gravy is passing Rattling Cages faster than expected and not one word about Martin. |
Subject: RE: BS: Rattling The Cage From: Jerry Rasmussen Date: 10 Jan 05 - 12:28 PM There's hope for us yet, Sinsull... I just added one, meself.. It might end up being a race to the finish. Or is it Finnish? Jerry |
Subject: RE: BS: Rattling The Cage From: GUEST,Chongo Chimp Date: 10 Jan 05 - 12:32 PM This thread is offensive too. But it ain't as bad as the "Monkey Gravy" one. - Chongo |
Subject: RE: BS: Rattling The Cage From: Jerry Rasmussen Date: 10 Jan 05 - 12:35 PM Depends on which side of the cage you're on.. Any friend of Chongo's is a friend of mine. Jerry |
Subject: RE: BS: Rattling The Cage From: Bill D Date: 10 Jan 05 - 01:39 PM this is terribly confusing when you read the threads in the wrong order. Now I am wondering whether MG has a recipe for MG (possibly using MSG), to serve to MG, who will then throw feces at MC...as usual.. |
Subject: RE: BS: Rattling The Cage From: Padre Date: 11 Jan 05 - 01:02 AM I almost bought an MG in 1965 - sorry now I didn't Padre |
Subject: RE: BS: Rattling The Cage From: Little Hawk Date: 11 Jan 05 - 02:14 PM My father did, and it was nearly the death of him twice. It turned out to be an "unlucky" car. |
Subject: RE: BS: Rattling The Cage From: Liz the Squeak Date: 11 Jan 05 - 02:26 PM Would MGM be interested in the film rights to this thread? LTS |

Subject: RE: BS: Rattling The Cage From: Shanghaiceltic Date: 11 Jan 05 - 11:31 PM Old Speckled Hen a wonderful beer is named after an MG but not our MG. Should this be in the useless trivia bit I wonder..... |
Subject: RE: BS: Rattling The Cage From: Teresa Date: 11 Jan 05 - 11:42 PM I'll take absolute silliness over absolute hatred any day. That's our mudcat. :) Teresa |
Subject: RE: BS: Rattling The Cage From: Bunnahabhain Date: 12 Jan 05 - 02:08 PM Dont be silly, you'll never get absolute silliness on mudcat. Ever time you think you have, someone will go a few steps further into stupidity.... bunnahabhain |
Subject: RE: BS: Rattling The Cage From: Liz the Squeak Date: 12 Jan 05 - 02:16 PM It's better to keep silent and be thought a fool, than to speak up and remove all doubt. NAaaaaaaaaaaaaahh!!! LTS |
Subject: RE: BS: Rattling The Cage From: The Fooles Troupe Date: 12 Jan 05 - 09:07 PM Is it my turn to speak now? ;-) |
Subject: RE: BS: Rattling The Cage From: Bobert Date: 12 Jan 05 - 09:14 PM I apologize, Jerry. I did it. I usaully don't even read MG threads so I didn't know it would happen but yer right... Sniff... I feel so ashamed... I really thought it would get 2 or 3 hits and fall off into Max's black hole... I really did... I wasn't thinkin' right... Sniff... I'm sorry... Bobert |
Subject: RE: BS: Rattling The Cage From: frogprince Date: 13 Jan 05 - 12:51 PM Bobert, are you sorrowful, or are some of those sniffs snuff? |
Subject: RE: BS: Rattling The Cage From: Once Famous Date: 13 Jan 05 - 04:44 PM It's from all of the cocaine he snorts. A thread about me is what I consider my ultimate success at yanking the chains I so love to yank. |
Subject: RE: BS: Rattling The Cage From: GUEST Date: 13 Jan 05 - 05:29 PM He is and interesting specimen, isn't he? Don't know what a specimen is? Ask your doctor. |
Subject: RE: BS: Rattling The Cage From: Amos Date: 13 Jan 05 - 06:25 PM What Martin so blithely refers to as "loving to yank chains" is actually pathological hatred of other beings, stemming from the beatings he enjoyed as a lad. Sorry about the beatings, Martin. A |
Subject: RE: BS: Rattling The Cage From: Little Hawk Date: 13 Jan 05 - 06:49 PM God, Amos. (chuckle!) Man, you are hooked. You and Martin are becoming seriously codependent, that's what I think. |
Subject: RE: BS: Rattling The Cage From: Stilly River Sage Date: 14 Jan 05 - 11:50 AM Co-dependent like matches and gasoline. |
Subject: RE: BS: Rattling The Cage From: Once Famous Date: 14 Jan 05 - 11:53 AM amos is a cocksucker. all he's good at is making someone who calls himself Martin Gibson on an Internet forum have more fun. Dig it? |
Subject: RE: BS: Rattling The Cage From: RichM Date: 14 Jan 05 - 01:17 PM martingibson, shouldn't you be working? Stop stealing your employer's time! |
Subject: RE: BS: Rattling The Cage From: Once Famous Date: 14 Jan 05 - 03:34 PM You should first get a job and quit using that library computer. |
Subject: RE: BS: Rattling The Cage From: Little Hawk Date: 14 Jan 05 - 03:58 PM And you should BOTH stop scratching yourselves in between typing... "Know'm sayin'?" |

Subject: RE: BS: Rattling The Cage From: Jerry Rasmussen Date: 14 Jan 05 - 04:28 PM No need for an apology, Bobert me friend. I find it humorous that this thread is questioning the obsessive insult/counter-insult threads that rotate around MG, Amos, and then quickly, with appearances from stage left of Little Hawk, and perhaps later from my friend Bill D. Brucie usually appears to sprinkle some badly needed humor and good will on the mess and then it trails off into infinity. I are guilty for rattling the cage, in questioning why people rattle the cage. Maybe a few cyber-bananas would be a more humane solution? No offense meant to Chongo Chimp, who is far better behaved (and more clever than some..) Seems like there's more Mud than Cat in here these days. Jerry |
Subject: RE: BS: Rattling The Cage From: Little Hawk Date: 14 Jan 05 - 04:33 PM I quote Buffy Sainte-Marie, Jerry. She said "laughter is the grease of growth, support your local clown". I get my daily therapeutic laughter on Mudcat, along with more serious forays into social, political and spiritual issues. Chongo says "thanks" for the kind words. He likes you too. |
Subject: RE: BS: Rattling The Cage From: GUEST Date: 15 Jan 05 - 09:53 AM Jerry: I was going to get offended at being included, but I concede the point; I am changing my approach to that no good name-calling psycho sonofa bitch and will not call him names any more. You have my vow of silence. A |
