From: Fidjit

Just back from the Straw Bear Festival. Heard someone sing a parody of the Boar's Head. =

This bad kebab I hold in hand.
Is the worst kebab in all the land.
etc.
Anyone got all the words?

Or, (written for Dr Price's Birthday Bash)

At the risk of getting seasonal (or seasoned):

To The Boar's Head tonight come I
At eight o' clock I shall draw nigh
And I pray that all may make merry Quot estis in convivio (as you all feast so heartily)

The Boar's head, as I understand,
Is the finest pub in all the land. (or "in Llantrisant")
With sev'ral good beers close at hand, let us servire cantico (serve with a song)

Nigel

Chris Pitt sings it from time to tiem at our club. If he's there tonight I'll see if I can get words or composer info from him.

I think it was written by an old friend of ours that I've not seen for a while called BJ, oddly enough I'm not sure I ever knew his real name in all the years I've known him.

The boars head in hand bear I,
Bedecked with hay and rosemary:
And ibid you,my masters,be merry,
Quot estis in convivo.

Caput apre defero
Redens laundes Domino
Caput apre defero
Redens laudes Domino

The boar's head I understand,
Is the rarest dish in all the land;
Which thus bedecked a gay garland....
Let us servire cantico

Chorus.

Our steward has provided this
In honour of the King of Bliss;
Which on this day to be served is
Inreginensi atrio.

Chorus.

That kebab parody was mentioned in the thread Curry Songs, where it is attributed to Chris Pitt.

Well now Gaia. I do the original myself. It's the parady we're after. And Kevin, do your best. Is it from Walthamstow? Christ. I grew up there!

Chris Pitt was at the club last night and confirmed that it was, in fact himself who sang it at the Straw Bear where fidjit heard it.

He sang it again last night and said he would email me the words to post here, I could possibly remember them but will wait for his email.

He also confirmed that it was written by our friend BJ with the last verse assisted by himself. Although based in the Walthamstow area it can't really be from there as BJ is, I believe, from Oldham and Chris from the Watford/Northwood area.
