Subject: Running Bear, and a song bout a wooden indian

Trying to find info on two songs One was about "Running Bear" who loved "Little White Cloud" or something like that,

The other was about a wooden Indian, I think his name was Elijah.

Anyone know more about either of these?

Zane

Kaw-liga was written by Hank Williams, that should help you with the search. And Running Bear loved little White Dove. Not to be confused with the parody song Running Bare.

Running 'Bare'
a parody of Running Bear
was recorded by Sheb Wooley [and others]

35 years ago I named a cat Running Bear after the guy in this song. Only cat I ever had that'd actually fetch tings & drop 'em at my feet to have me toss 'em again. When we moved to Depoe Bay, Oregon, Running Bear became an outdoor cat. Came in to eat. Used to bring me gifts from the ocean---snakes and mice, still alive, would be dropped into my boot for me to find when I put 'em on in the morning. After moving back to Chicago, years later, Running Bear couldn't/wouldn't be kept inside. Sadly, got killed by a car.
