Subject: BS: The Last Shatner Thread of All! From: Gurney Date: 28 Mar 05 - 04:50 AM I wish. Please feel free to post just what it is that inspires you all to pick on the man. I appreciate that he's possibly not the best actor, writer, or singer in the world, and his self-confidence may irritate some, but so what? Maybe he is kind to animals. |

Subject: RE: BS: The Last Shatner Thread of All! From: GUEST,Amos Date: 28 Mar 05 - 01:58 PM He is kust a thin paper label placed over the flimsiest and most manipulative effort ever levied against the many independent minds of the Mudcat. Fie, fie, fie!! Manipulation, deceit, hypocrisy, sham, PR gimmicks, media string-pulling and flim-flam scammery. The progenitor of this large cloud of useless balderdash should crawl in shame before the community!! A |

Subject: RE: BS: The Last Shatner Thread of All! From: GUEST,gnu Date: 28 Mar 05 - 03:50 PM Swiss Guards never leave the Queen. Worker bees never leave the hive. Brother coyotes never leave the pups. Worker ants never leave the larvae. Mere mortals never shuck the Shatner. |
Subject: RE: BS: The Last Shatner Thread of All! From: GUEST,Bill D Date: 28 Mar 05 - 07:54 PM ummm...I think the Swiss Guards DID leave the queen.....they are guarding the Pope.. |
Subject: RE: BS: The Last Shatner Thread of All! From: GUEST,gnu Date: 29 Mar 05 - 06:26 AM Well, now. The damn brethalizer on my keyboard must be fouled up again. The joke's kinda wimpy when ya screw it up so bad, eh? "Swiss Guards never leave the Pope. Grenadier Guards never leave the Queen." I am a bit dyslexic at times, but to combine two sentences, well, I'll bet I can't spell whatever affliction THAT is. |
Subject: RE: BS: The Last Shatner Thread of All! From: Little Hawk Date: 29 Mar 05 - 01:26 PM Susan, I fear that you may yet burn in hell for the lack of respect you have shown to William Shatner! For heaven's sake, woman, get down on your knees NOW and repent of your slanderous remarks!!! Bill is a very forgiving man. I know this. He forgave all those people who said he couldn't act. He has almost forgiven Bob Dylan for canning their joint musical project, back in the 70's. Almost. I think his forgiveness for that is just around the corner. I may have decided merely on a whim to turn the estimable Mr Shatner into a Mudcat icon, but...in the process of doing so, I discovered depths of sheer glory in the Man that I would never have guessed at. I read his book, "Get A Life", and it had a transformative effect on my consciousness that is impossible to describe. (and be glad of that, because if I could describe it I would go on and on about it until you started tearing your hair out and sending me threatening PM's) Yes, Shatner is Shatner is Shatner. He is that he is. That's all that really can be said. Shatneriffic, isn't it? :-) p.s. Cleigh O'Possum is pathetic. So are Paw & Cletus. Farts simply aren't that funny, once you're past 4rth grade. Imagination, my ass! Shatner leaves them all in the dust. |
Subject: RE: BS: The Last Shatner Thread of All! From: ranger1 Date: 29 Mar 05 - 02:11 PM My favorite part of Get a Life was when he got shat on by the elephant. I think this book should be required reading. And after the book discussion, there should be time set aside to hear his moving rendition of Mr. Tambourine Man. How anyone can go on another day without experiencing the phenomenon that is Shatner, I just can't imagine... |
Subject: RE: BS: The Last Shatner Thread of All! From: Little Hawk Date: 29 Mar 05 - 05:38 PM Well said, ranger1. Your free pass to the next WSSBA soiree is in the mail, along with a battery-operated phaser replica. |

From: Bunnahabhain Date: 29 Mar 05 - 08:22 PM "I am a bit dyslexic at times, but to combine two sentences, well, I'll bet I can't spell whatever affliction THAT is." I recognise the symptoms. Crystal usually just calls me a numpty when I do it. 1. Numpty, possibly from nump (obs) Scottish usage: a) Someone who (sometimes unwittingly) by speech or action demonstrates a lack of knowledge or misconception of a particular subject or situation to the amusement of others. b) A good humoured admonition, a term of endearment c) A reckless, absent minded or unwise person a) "No. That wisnae wit she meant, ya big numpty!" b) i.e. "Silly billy", "You big dafty" c) "That numpty's driving with no lights on!"
