Subject: RE: BS: Indonesian Earthquake 45 minutes ago From: GUEST,Ebbie Date: 28 Mar 05 - 02:53 PM I posted this on the 'Oh No, Not Again' link that someone started but you are right, gnu, that one's heading isn't clear enough. I'm holding my breath hoping this one won't be nearly as bad as the one before. Man. When Nature goes wild, there's not much to be done about it. |
Subject: RE: BS: Indonesian Earthquake 45 minutes ago From: GUEST Date: 28 Mar 05 - 03:11 PM Oops. I didn't search above the line before I posted. HEY JOE... combine these or delete mine. |

Subject: RE: BS: Indonesian Earthquake 45 minutes ago From: GUEST Date: 28 Mar 05 - 10:23 PM Upgraded the Richter Scale reading from 8.2 to 8.7. No tsunami thankfully but much death and destruction. "Almost all the deaths reported after the 8.7-magnitude quake were on Indonesia's Nias island, a popular surfing spot off Sumatra island's west coast and close to the epicenter. Police were pulling children's' bodies out of the rubble of collapsed houses, and a fire was reportedly raging in one town. "It is predicted — and it's still a rough estimate — that the numbers of dead may be between 1,000 and 2,000," Vice President Jusuf Kalla told the el-Shinta radio station, saying the estimate was based on an assessment of damage to buildings." Perhaps 2000 Killed |
Subject: RE: BS: Indonesian Earthquake 45 minutes ago From: GUEST Date: 28 Mar 05 - 10:59 PM I just read an article today about all the underwater volcanic activity that is increasingly happening. I'll see if I can find it... Okay, a brief article Rustic |
Subject: RE: BS: Indonesian Earthquake 45 minutes ago From: GUEST,Ebbie Date: 28 Mar 05 - 11:52 PM pffft Thanks for posting the article but imo it's a bit sensationalist. Lots of vague alarms and generalities. I'd need a lot more information before I'd start running around shrieking about the sky's imminent plunge. (Whoever says "many folds"?) |
Subject: RE: BS: Indonesian Earthquake 45 minutes ago From: GUEST Date: 29 Mar 05 - 12:08 AM I agree Ebbie, it is vague and general but I was reading it today so I shared. I read this before I heard about the earthquake. RR |
Subject: RE: BS: Indonesian Earthquake 45 minutes ago From: GUEST,Ebbie Date: 29 Mar 05 - 12:11 AM Hey, I'm not complaining! Many raindrops make an ocean - or something like that. *G* |
Subject: RE: BS: Indonesian Earthquake 45 minutes ago From: GUEST,Rustic Date: 29 Mar 05 - 12:30 AM Right on. I was looking at a lot of activity going on today. I checked into earthquake activity around the globe an up to date site on earthquakes and volcanos A list of current volcanos with some action. I'm not trying to cry the end of the world though!! This is an ever occuring happening with the earth and I'm the last one to think the time for apocalypse is now! Maybe tomorrow but not today!(smile) |
Subject: RE: BS: Indonesian Earthquake 45 minutes ago From: open mike Date: 29 Mar 05 - 08:42 PM when they mentioned this on the news this morn, they said figures of the tsunami are up around 175,000 now...wow! i hope this one is very minor compared to that! |
