Our local "Christian" bookstore stocks several books for young people which "disprove" that old godless theory; they regulary cite the
"fact" that petrified human and dinosaur footprints appear together.
The reference is actually to a case where, at a spot where two types of dinosaur tracks cross, one creature's feet momentarily struck in a way that left prints resembling huge human prints. Photos of the site have also been retouched to enhance the "evidence". Some of the people pushing this have to know that it is a fraud, and that they are blatantly pandering to their supporters.

I don't see how they can BI... I mean, ya sure, they can try... But if Canadian schools went this same medieval, 'stupid-stitious' rout, I'd take it upon myself to teach my kids(s) science, evolution, and the like...

So the only way I can see them being sucessful in 'imposing their ignorance' on you is if you LET them...

Subramanyan Chandrasekhar had one of the greatest minds ever to grace the body of a human. At the age of nineteen he presented a paper to about 100 of his peers. Eddington shot him down ridiculed him, basically discredited Chandra. The same group of people (established science) who did that also gave us evolution. Incidentally, it was Chandra who posited the existence of singularities--although they were not called that then. The proof came from Richard White and Sterling Colgate in the 1960s.

Creationism was given to us by people who had to explain existence. This is the same group (established religion) who gave us the Inquisition.

Personally, I'd be very careful before deciding either has the corner on truth.

Science doesn't claim to HAVE the corner on truth...   Science is concerned with FACT... Adn science is willing to changes as new facts come along to disprove previous facts...

If it's truth you want, Dr Tyree's philosophy class is right down the hall...

Don't forget... Michaelson's, chapter 2 and 3 for next week and if you want me I'll be in my office on Wednesday, but NOT on Thursday....
