The man behind the voice that sold us Frosted Flakes for the last 30 years died on the weekend! He was a GRRRRRRREAT man!

Haven't seen anything about the voice of Fred Flinstone. Can't remember his name... from Montreal, I think. Died several days ago.

Flintstone, that is. Henry Cordon was his name. Died 20 May. Same guy?

I knew Thurl Ravenscroft was the Grinch singer, but I didn't realize he was also the voice of Tony the Tiger!

Celebrity deaths seem to come in groups of three, this week it is cartoon voices--along with Henry Corden(Fred Flintstone), Howard Morris also died this week, and he provided many of"additional voices" that filled out the Hanna-Barbera cartoons--

Howard Morris? Is that the nut hillbilly from the Andy Griffith show? Ernest T. Bass.

Howard Morris was on the Andy Griffith Show but I shall forever think of him as "Uncle Hoopy" from the "This Is Your Life" take-off done by "Your Show Of Shows" with Syd Caesar. The image of Uncle Hoopy in tears hanging off of Caesar brought my father to tears of laughter, and me too just thinking of it.

The Tony the Tiger guy also sang 'Davey, Davey Crockett.. King of the wild frontier..." The Ballad of Davey Crockett!

This shouldn't be in BS - he's a genuine Folk Hero and.. a singer!

GUEST,Dave'sWife at Work, I don't think I can rule out the possibility that Mr. Ravenscroft sang The Ballad of Davy Crockett at some point in his career, but he didn't have the hit. That was Bill Hayes (who later had a starring role on the soap opera "Days of Our Lives".)
