Be honest. How often do you bathe?

Unless I have been doing hard or dirty work, I find my self bathing every 3 or four days or twice a week.

More often in the summer and less often in the winter.

I take a shower ever morning. Never fail to do so.

If I do hard yard work, which is quite comonly the case, I come in the house and immediately take another shower. Put on clean clothes and go play with the ol' computer, as in Mudcat.

Well, when my underware gits too stiff ta bend then I gotta replace it or the pigeons will think I'm one of the statues in the park. So whenever I gotta change ma underwear I generally sponge off a bit. It's kinda refreshing, ya know? But I do put on some fresh longhandles every Fall, cuz it's warmer that way. Right now I'm wearin' five er six layers and gittin' ready ta put on this year's layer. But it ain't stiff enough to take it all off yet, so it'll probably be next Summer before I sponge off a bit agin.

Besides, wadin' through the cricks and being caught out in the rain while ridin' fence gits a man prit near as clean as he can stand bein'.

I shower 3 or more times a day if I have a headache. If I have a fever, not at all. But every time I go in the hot tub I take a second bath or shower. Even with bromide in the water it could harbor bacteria despite or because of its constant 106 F.

Depends; I "sponge off" if nothing more each morning; you wouldn't want to be around my 'pits or feet otherwise. Shower every 2-3 days.
Shower as needed if I do sweaty or dirty stuff.

When I went to the office every day I showered (and shaved underwater in the shower) every morning.

When I retired, I used to shower every time I thought about having sex.

More recently, it was every time I'd think there's a really good possiblilty I might have sex.

Most recently ... there was that time in January when I had to go to the State Capitol to rant at the Senate committee. (Didn't want to stain my last good shirt.)

Then there was September, at the festival, when somebody spilled something. Somebody threw a bucket of water to put the flames out.

Might have been one or two other times when I thought there might be a ...

On Saturday nights - but shave twice a week - haircut twice a year $8.00 US. Shutting off the water-heater and boiling a 3 gallon pot on the stove saves almost 20 dollars a month.

Underwear (semper ubi sub ubi) is changed for Sunday mornings. Laundry, once a month. Dishes, use paper - this is why there was a 'rodent problem'until the city delivered new bins (the old-ones had been chewed through.)

Once a day, usually first thing in the morning. It's a refreshing and very good way to start the day. Showers if I'm hurrying...bath if I'm not. It's one of life's really good experiences, I think! Yeah.

My goodness. That's one more thing I have in common with Clinton Hammond. I think that we shall one day end up as real pals, bosom buddies, and all that.

If he would just apologize for killing Sammy Skunk... ;-) A little groveling and mea culpa on Clinton's part...that's what we need here. Oh yeah.

I've always believed that most people who have bad BO do so because they don't change their clothing often enough. This leaves aside those few (?) unfortunates who have some sort of biochemical imbalance. Nevertheless, in order to avoid an anti-social pong it's probably best to both bathe regularly (like once a day) and to change clothes regularly (ditto).
I once worked with a bloke who had absolutely dreadful BO - you could smell where he'd been by the sort of trail that he left hanging in the air behind him. He was so bad that he was often the sole topic of conversation in the workplace. The personnel department had a few discrete words with him but he just ignored them. He got very close to getting fired but, luckily, left of his own accord. My view was that this person was an anti-social git and deserved to be fired!

Well, I swear that when I was a kid, the five of us took a bath once a week, whether we need it or not. I think the water got changed once for the five of us. My sister says we were more civilized than that, but I remember just once a week.

I think it depends on your culture.

I shower everyday, sometimes twice.

When I was 15, I was an exchange student to Austria. My host family ran a large (500)pig farm (although we had cows and chickens too) and strawberry patch. Things were done the old fashioned way...little to no machinery to use in the barn or the fields. I worked in the barn and the strawberry patch alongside everyone else. It's no surprise that folks got dirty and sweaty. What DID surprise me what that they only showered on Saturday nights, before Sunday church service. I was often teased for taking a shower everyday.....

Twice a day, 'cept on weekends...

Once just to wake up. Some people need that caffeinated brown sludge, me, I NEED a hot shower.

Then, my 'workday' starts at three in the afternoon. By then I've been doing housework, taking care of the daughter, running errands... whatever - I usually take another quick shower then to make sure I'm fresh for work.

AND... if work has been a real stinker (cos I work with kids and with craft materials, and the two are sometimes quite the volatile mix...) I may need another shower to get the dust off before I crawl into bed!

But usually it averages out to two a day.

Hope I didn't just throw off someone's statistic-collecting there!

Well, having discovered showers at the age of twelve (we only had a bath before then) I've been showering at least once a day since. Even including the time when we had no bath or shower ('cos it took them over a week to install the new bathroom suite) and we used a watering can and a paddling pool.........

I should imagine how often you bath depends on your local climate and how easy it is to get hot water. Or how isolated you are (or are willing to become)........

Guest DB, we also have a person at work with a body odour that is almost sapient. When challenged about it, her only and adamant response was "nothing wrong with it, it's good natural sweat". I really had to bite my tongue from saying 'it doesn't make it smell any better".

The film, "Festival Express," is documentary about a concert tour by train across Canada made by Janis Joplin and the Full Tilt Boogie Band, the Grateful Dead, the Band, Delaney and Bonnie, Ian and Sylvia, the Buddy Guy Band, and bunch of other musicians.

At one point, the bands plus all their roadies, etc. had been on the train for 2 1/2 days without a bath. The tour organizers arranged for an unscheduled stop and rented an Olympic-sized swimming pool for them. Janis tore off all her clothing and jumped in. Everyone else immediately peeled down to their birthday suits and followed her lead. The swimming pool manager freaked initially, but since the pool was closed to everyone but the Festival Express gang, a mass skinny dip ensued.

That's how they all took a bath.
