Are Hull going to embarrass Villa in the same way that Doncaster did?

Whats the ground capacity at Hull?

Being a staunch Villa supporter, but living in Market Rasen, there is very little chance of getting a decent ticket. Maybe thats a good thing as I can't think of anything worse than being walloped by Hull :-) - apart from Doncaster of course.

I was absolutely horrified by England's abysmal performance against Pakistan last week, I've heard of a batting collapse but that was obscene!

At present Villa seem able to embarrass themselves without 'Ulls help. Having seen Gareth Barry's penalty attempt on Saturday it would appear confidence is at an all time low.

Ground capacity is 25,404. Despite poor recent form average is just over 19,000 with a highest attendance of 22,201.

We have some great pubs for real ale fans within walking distance of stadium if you do get a ticket.

Well, as a Villa fan who moved away from the second city twenty years ago I was only half-gutted by the Doncaster result as I am far more worried about the Premiership at the moment.

It would be nice to beal 'Ull though. Can you imagine how much the Blues fans will be carping about it if we lose that one too?

As for rescuuing our dignity - have the Villa got any left at the moment?

This awful Villa team made Doncaster look like Brazil,it is time O`Leary packed his bags, young Davis is the only one playing with any confidence, Hull KR if they are still around would trouble the Villa side.

Thanks for the info Beardy. One of the problems nowadays is that the away supporters are only allowed in specific areas of the ground. So you have to get tickets from the Villa.
If I got tickets from Hull and the Villa scored and I jumped up with delight, I would get kicked out of the ground.

Dignity is what they don't have anymore. The Villa have spent a forune over many seasons and it is unfair to say that they haven't. Where IMHO they go wrong, is that they are not prepared to break the bank and bring real quality players in. Instead they spend their 4/5 millions on a player who generally is past the sell by date and finish up having to offload for almost peanuts.
This season, if you look at the players Oleary has bought, most of them have been injured a lot. You gets what you pay for.
This has had an amazing affect on the stabilty of the team.

If you look at the defence and considering how much has been spent in that area they are a disgrace. Samuels in my opinion is a big weak link in the team. The same goes for Ridgewell. Sorenson blows hot and cold and is not much better than James. Delaney always seems to be injured. I stiil have my doubts about McCann and Hendry.
I can't believe how poor Angel is.
I felt that after the Doncater match, the whole of the Villa team should not have been paid. They earn a fortune and stroll around the park like prima donnas. Where was there pride.

I think David Oleary has lost the plot and should go.

Lack of confidence is an understatement Villan. The fact Barry missed a penalty shows just how lacking the side are. I was cock-a-hoop when O'Leary got the job, but am really quite puzzled as to how he has managed to balls it all up so much. I agree about the buying decisions, but think our Doug had a hand in that (being as tight as a gnats's chuff). As for Angel - another forlorn hope.

If we get bought out it is possible things may change I suppose, but I'm not sure how I feel about that. Buying the cup doesn't make for great football, as we all know ;)

Sounds like you feel just like me overall.
AS far as Deadly Doug goes, I woudn't say he has been tight. Over the seasons the Villa have laid out massive amounts of money on players. The problem being that instead of buying two very good players at lets say 20mill, he goes and spends 20 mill on 6 players which has turned out to be false economy every time.

The rush to fire managers is absurd and smacks of I-want-it-now impatience, if not actual hysteria. It's about time clubs gave managers a decent time to do what they can. Ferguson was nearly fired from Man.U. after about 5 years and just before his teams took off.

For the money Premiership players earn, they can't, in my book, practice enough to get to be the best.

Pele, Matthews and many other greats (including Bradman in cricket) practiced seemingly all the time. So if players don't do that, then they aren't worth the money, tho' they need time , too.

Hey Les, I don't support the game BUT my Hubby (Les) and daughter intend to be at this game supporting Hull. Should I get them to close the bridge to repell invaders?

Mini hijack here. Seriously now Les, Linda and I would love to visit the flok club in Feb and Nov! Lindas' computer has nearly gone up in smoke - chasing drivers/modems and all bits, bites and little B's so if you need to get in touch please PM me!

Clearly a Villan with a short memory. Last season's F.A. Cup?

Hammered by Sheffield United playing them at football, despite the claims we were a route one team.. And the whole country saw it in TV. How embarassing!!

Mind you as a Sheffield United supporter of many years standing - they have a great consistency. They ALWAYS let you down in the end. Watch them blow promotion this season.

And for our American friends that is two obscure football teams and the mighty Blades.
