A few kind people here on mudcat gave me some sage advice a while ago (June-ish)

I had set myself the task of soaking small pieces of pineapple in rum till christmas.

At which time I planned to cover the said lumps of rum soaked pineapple in dark chocolate.

This proved to be quite tricky.

But not tricky enough to outwit mudcatters many of whom helped with confectionary advice.

I can't track you down cos the original thread has been deleted. (Can't think why :o)

Well.

It's done. I am now the proud owner of many delicious lumps of chocolate covered rum soaked pineapple and a very messy kitchen.

They are DELICIOUS!!!!! Freinds are very complementary about them and ask where I got the recipe from. They don't LOOK too good, but who cares!

Give the chocolate to someone, put the pineapple pieces on a pizza and drink the rum. OR, Throw away the fruit and chocolate and drink the rum. The key here is STOP wasting the rum.

Pineapple pizza ? The mere thought of such an atrocity made me wince, until I had Ham & Pineapple pizza in Pereia, Colombia, a decade or so ago. Astoundingly delicious. Might be an interesting experiment to sprinkle chocolate drops on one of those.

digest such treats is thru the ears, not through by mouth!

Do you reckon it would work if one used dried apricots, brandy and dark chocolate?

One is very fond of apricots......!
