I had this idea this morning because of Jay Leno's joke that DeLay will be auctioning off his Congressional seat on Ebay.

So I ask:

Why not auction off monetary influence pedeling on Ebay?

Like any multiple item listing one could auction off $10 contributions to various Congressmen for their vote on a particular bill or issue.

As a private interest group the money would go where the seller feels it is best spent be it the DNC RNC or golf trips to Scotland.

The process is transparent, Ebay gets its cut, (cutting out K street lobbyists) and issues will be aired.

Perhaps the first fund to be acutioned should be support of the impeachment of George W Bush.

Comon, ya gotta love it :>

OK I guess I'll just have to go ahead and place the auction and see what happens.

Shoot, Donuel, since 95% of all elections are won by the candidate who has the most money to spend on the campaign why not auction off all elected positions, from president down to the local sheriff... Then use the proceeds to fund programs that are now funded by legalized governemnt gambling (lotteries)...

Sure would be alot more peaceful than what we have now with all these negative ads bombarding us every year or so...

I'm not auctioning people of course but rather $10 worth of influence in the form of contributions.

ebay will never go for it. Just another hippie pipedream that is completely ridiculous.

ebay is not a political forum.
