It was written by Phill Coulter after the death of the Furey Brothers' father, who was a respected fiddler in his own right. Finbar recorded the song with an amazing amount of emotion. I first heard him sing it in a concert and bought the tape from them the same night so I could learn it. It was also later recorded by John McDermott. A great song by both! Sandy |
