Yeah, I know they're all dead, but so what? They wouldn't do it if they were still alive so what difference does it make?

Women can be very good in the construction trades. Not all, though. Many of you will not be old enought to remember, but there was a carpenter named Christine Keeler. One screw and the cabinet fell apart. Moving on now . . . .

Painting isn't construction... it's interior design.

25 years ago when I left school, I wanted to be a painter and decorator (as they were called then, in the days before Laurence Llewellyn Bowen and Handy Andy) but no-one would take a female apprentice.

How different life could have been if they had....

She came after an hour and said she had finished - but she reckoned the porch was a BMW.
