Subject: RE: 2007 FSGW Getaway-November 2-5, 2007 From: Genie Date: 11 Jul 07 - 07:42 PM Mick, you're one of the catters I'm most looking forward to meeting too. I hope I can make it to the Getaway (see my last post in the other thread), but I hope you can also make it so San Diego one of these days, especially when Amos and I are both Balboa Park "jammable." Genie |
Subject: RE: 2007 FSGW Getaway-November 2-5, 2007 From: Big Mick Date: 11 Jul 07 - 04:52 PM Genie, I certainly hope you make it. I will be there, and you are one of the Mudcatters I have always wanted to meet. One of my goals is to get to Balboa Park again, only this time when you, Amos, and company are there and have a great singaround. Mick |

Subject: RE: 2007 FSGW Getaway-November 2-5, 2007 From: Charlie Baum Date: 10 Jul 07 - 11:40 PM Genie-- We're not quite ready to handle registration for the 2007 FSGW Getaway just yet. The costs will be about the same as last year--and depend on (1) how much of the weekend you stay for, (2) whether you're a member of (or join) FSGW, (3) if you're a youngster or full-time student; in any case, the nost expensive possibility last year was less than $190 (a non-FSGW-member adult staying through Monday morning breakfast in a lower bunk). The nearest airport is probably BWI, and it has lots of relatively cheap flights. DCA is also pretty near, and IAD is acceptably close, especially if you hook up with an FSGW member for transportation. There is no public transit to the camp, but ride-sharing is a real likelihood, and lots of Mudcatters flew into BWI and carpooled from there. We should have registration information finalized and a form posted sometime in August--certainly by Labo(u)r Day. WYSIWYG is in Northernmost Pennsylvania and hasn't made it to the Getaway--yet. (Maybe this year, hint, hint. :-) ) However, there are at least 5 or 6 dozen Mudcatters who live in the DC area--heck, there are more than a dozen within a kilometer of my house. In fact, the presence of so many local Mudcatters is part of the reason we thought about inviting Mudcatters from far away in the first place. --Charlie Baum, now President of FSGW, and in the thick of it all |
Subject: RE: 2007 FSGW Getaway-November 2-5, 2007 From: Bill D Date: 10 Jul 07 - 09:57 PM No details on cost, or forms yet...just plans and ideas and trolling for info on who might attend. (yep...Ferrara & I, her spouse, do live near DC.) |
Subject: RE: 2007 FSGW Getaway-November 2-5, 2007 From: Genie Date: 10 Jul 07 - 09:22 PM I'm still looking around to see if there's a list anywhere of who's (probably) coming to the Getaway this year and other details about travel, etc. Did I miss the thread with a registration form, info on cost, what airport to fly into, transportation to the camp site, etc.? I'm wondering how many catters live nearby and how many are coming from the fur regions (like the west coast of the US or across the pond). Ferrara lives near DC, as I recall, and WYSYWIG is in So. PA, right? Just trying to get my bearings here. You old timers (Getaway-wise) are having way too much fun already. Genie ;-) |

I had hoped to come over at the beginning of the preceding week, so that I wasn't jet lagged like I was last Getaway. However I'm not 100% sure if it will work now. Giok |

I have been seeing people plan parties for five decades now, and I have never seen one before where folks got excited a whole year in advance. Some party, I guess!!!! Evil twins? Kendall, did you know you'd married an evil twin? I remember when you told Mary once, "I don't remember marrying you!", but now look!! ROFLMAO!! Yeah, comeuppance is an interesting thing, bites you from the most unexpected directions sometimes, huh? LOL! A |

Funny - I pictured him in a black leather jacket with a DA and high waters. Mick you don't ever want to threaten me. Keep in mind that I know where you live and I think Mary Lou likes me better. And as for Amos, it appears he is right behind you. "Go gettem Mick! But I'll stay back here and kibbitz." With friends like that you're better off with me and Jacqui. |

You have run this campaign around his ass for two years in a row, and now you want to retire, just like that? Hmmmm....I don't think so. Doesn't seem right, unless you made a plain deal for best two falls out of three, inw hich case he's toast. But otherwise, the overs ain't over 'til they're over over there... A |

If Mick can't get his butt into his poodle skirt, he will have to whine to someone else! Jacqui is coordinating tunes/lyrics. I intend to watch this one from a distance. SINS Note To Self: Linda Goodman was one of the few who figured out how to get into her costume and get it to inflate. (Mick never did). But can we get hair to "flip"? |
