I have searched the DT etc. without any luck, although I am probably clutching at straws anyway, but this is a last ditch attempt to find this song which I remember vaguely from the past.

The only words I have are
"Eighteen yellow roses will die and fade away
But a fathers love will never go away"

I remember the story as being about a girl, her boyfriend, and the father, probably early seventies but not sure.

Fingers crossed (and everything else) counting on the vast and varied knowledge of all you mudcatters again.
