Subject: RE: BS: Not posting on a thread From: David C. Carter Date: 02 Sep 06 - 07:11 PM If Giok didn't exist,we wouldn't have to invent Him.But He doesn't,so we haven't responded to His non thread, just as He wouldn't have wished us to. |
Subject: RE: BS: Not posting on a thread From: Bill D Date: 02 Sep 06 - 04:28 PM why, Little Hawk...SURELY you understand that we are simply speaking metaphorically here!...working out subconcious nuances of our Pavlovian tendencies and not really 'posting' in the Existential sense. You'll notice that Giok has managed several times to 'not post' while still elegantly conveying the essentiality of his non-posting experience....an achievement not to be trivilaized! |
Subject: RE: BS: Not posting on a thread From: John MacKenzie Date: 02 Sep 06 - 04:16 PM Respond to what? Who are you? Am I really here? No it isn't me not posting on this non thread. Giok |
Subject: RE: BS: Not posting on a thread From: Little Hawk Date: 02 Sep 06 - 03:57 PM Thank God. I've been silently praying for months that you would all come to your senses and realize that the smart thing to do is NOT respond. |
Subject: RE: BS: Not posting on a thread From: Big Mick Date: 02 Sep 06 - 03:52 PM Notice how it is getting easier, Bill? I find it much easier to ignore than when I started. |
Subject: RE: BS: Not posting on a thread From: Blowzabella Date: 02 Sep 06 - 03:40 PM I for one am proud of yer Bill. Must have taken a lot of guts to come right out and say that xxxx |
Subject: RE: BS: Not posting on a thread From: Bill D Date: 02 Sep 06 - 01:01 PM no...Shambholic, grammatically seems to indicate thirst for 'Shambolism' (if I may be permitted to name the syndrome)....I think my affliction is merely a sub-version of the "Don Quixote" weakeness we often accuse 'another' of. We..at least *I*... 'tilt at windmills' in frustrating attempts to make sense of that which is long past sense. This 'thread of sanctuary' allows me to "sheath my lance" (can I say that in a public forum?) and humbly acknowledge my weakness with others.... |
Subject: RE: BS: Not posting on a thread From: John MacKenzie Date: 02 Sep 06 - 12:42 PM Would that be like a Shambholic? No it wasn't me! |
Subject: RE: BS: Not posting on a thread From: Bill D Date: 02 Sep 06 - 12:33 PM it's getting easier to not post to "the thread which may not be named"...whenever I am tempted, I just come here and read, and, surrounded by my my fellow non-posters, I can stand up and announce: "hello, my name is Bill, and I'm a compulsive poster of rational responses to repetitive rancor" Today, I have been 'on the wagon' for one whole week! I want to thank the support team for helping me through this time of trial..... (heh, heh, heh) |
Subject: RE: BS: Not posting on a thread From: John MacKenzie Date: 02 Sep 06 - 12:23 PM By virtue of the fact that this thread does not exist as nobody is posting to it, I think it should be the ninetieth post that counts. At 90 the post acieves nonagenarian status. Nonno Giok [Not him again!] |
Subject: RE: BS: Not posting on a thread From: Blowzabella Date: 02 Sep 06 - 12:18 PM I haven't posted so many times - must have not posted more than 100 already! |
Subject: RE: BS: Not posting on a thread From: David C. Carter Date: 02 Sep 06 - 11:12 AM Who isn't it, who is not going to claim the non-100th non-posting to this thread, that nobody keeps on not posting to? |
Subject: RE: BS: Not posting on a thread From: fat B****rd Date: 02 Sep 06 - 07:22 AM Right with you there, jacqui c. I haven't posted either. |
Subject: RE: BS: Not posting on a thread From: jacqui.c Date: 02 Sep 06 - 05:41 AM I'm like JennyO - have been keeping a watch but not posting and it is FUN. I agree with Mick - keep it up for any time and it will make for panic. It seems to be getting that way anyway. |

Subject: RE: BS: Not posting on a thread From: John MacKenzie Date: 01 Sep 06 - 02:24 PM I see someone is suggesting that it is possible to post to another thread, [while it still exists] my only thought was 'What thread?' Here Giok {not again} |
Subject: RE: BS: Not posting on a thread From: Dave the Gnome Date: 01 Sep 06 - 01:57 PM I'm not posting to another thread now as well but I did say I wasn't on the thread itself. Does that count? |
Subject: RE: BS: Not posting on a thread From: Big Mick Date: 01 Sep 06 - 01:53 PM You know you are getting good when you can throw a bowline one handed. I loved that page, Giok. When I was working as a diver we used the double bowline for lifting barrels, sometimes for an emergency sling to lift a person. Mick |
Subject: RE: BS: Not posting on a thread From: catspaw49 Date: 01 Sep 06 - 12:51 PM Your knots made me think of having to learn all those when I was 9. I loved sailing so I did the knotboard as Cub Scout project. Hated the Sheepshank until many years later when I found out how useful it really was. The old guy who taught me insisted you had to be able to tie a bowline in 5 seconds or less and again, later on, I found THAT more than valuable. Anyway........... After mastering the bowline he told me to find out how to tie a Chinese version he called the "Dragon Bowline" on my own. A few days later I told him I had looked hard and couldn't find it in any book. He immediately took a line, whipped a bowline on it and dragged it along behind him, laughing his ass off. Took me awhile to get it, but HEY! I was only 10. Spaw |

Subject: RE: BS: Not posting on a thread From: Big Mick Date: 01 Sep 06 - 11:11 AM He is starting to work his way into the Festival thread. He has managed to snag a couple who are starting the debate. My guess is that this will collapse soon. But it has been fun to watch him jig for fish. If everyone held tight for a month or more, he would be panicky. A troll can't stand a lack of attention. |

Subject: RE: BS: Not posting on a thread From: John MacKenzie Date: 01 Sep 06 - 04:41 AM It has come to my notice that people are not posting to this thread, and as a consequence it is sliding down the list. Subject: RE: BS: Not posting on a thread From: Wolfgang Date: 31 Aug 06 - 04:10 PM You don't know yet what real temptation is. That will be the moment when you will get weak and try to explain to me. Wolfgang (grin) |
