Anybody have a hard copy? I'm listening to it as an audiobook and I have a few questions on spellings of names.

Here is the whole book online at knowledgebrush.com.
It is a great site for public domain books.

Project Gutenberg is another good site.

Thanks-- I had looked for it in that form and didn't find it.

It settled a big question, though-- the reader is giving two or more pronunciations of one name in particular, transposing some consonants!

It was turned into a movie at least once.

Horrible puns throughout those things. As I recall that one was pretty bad!

Too bad Baum has turned out (in hindsight) to be such a stinker in what are today considered important political issues. It will probably restrict the circulation of his books, though considering the popularity of such books as "Little Tree," I may be wrong.

One of my alltime favorites is this chapter of another Baum book:

How They Matched the Fuddles

WYSIWYG, if you're into Oz, I recommend "Wicked" by Gregory Maguire. I received a copy of it for Father's Day and read it on the treadmill - a very well-written, thoughtful and thought-provoking book. But decidedly NOT "the Wizard of Oz from the Witch's point of view."
