We have all heard about the great Gordon, who in my opinion is not worth a toss, becoming the next British PM. Why not have John Prescott as our next pm ? There have been some negative remarks about the guy on this site, but let's face it what better man for the job. Straight speaker, great politican and an educated man. Come on guys just think of a new Britain under him.

Granted he may have come through the hard way. I read his subject is Middle Eastern politics, anyone who can understand that has to be given a chance ! Seriously he is the type of guy this country needs.

And he might do something about violence and shagging the next door neighbours wife.

Having said that, Gordon Browne IMHO would be an absolute disaster. Dislike the guy intensely.

I didn't trealise Bill Clinton's IQ was only 71!

Well there you go Ted, we agree on something, if more people voted Scottish Nationalist and not New Labour, we'd get more independence, and you'd get less Scots running your country.
Mind you it may be a throwback to 1706 when a Scottish king took over the English throne, but hey what does a haggis munching transvestite know about history? ☺

Scottish independence is fine by me, and Irish, and Welsh at least then the high taxes I pay will only be spent in my country. If push came to shove regarding the PM though, I would prefer John Reid. He talks sense.

I like kilts (very comfy, and absolutely a babe-magnet - even on an old crow like me!) and I like Haggis. The take-away van at Glen Nevis Campsite has really good Haggis & Chips. Great scran after a bit of Ben-Bashing. FEEEEEE-E-E-E-E-E-E-E-E-D me!!

The next Prime Minister will be that young Tory bloke. God help us all then.

Does he now? The humourless git sounds like a robot endlessly repeating the 'party line' to me. He's always struck me as a glassy-eyed,'I voss only following orders' type.
I hate the thought of having to choose between 'commissar' Reid and Prezza - like having to choose between having your eyes gouged out with an old spoon or having your legs sawed off with a rusty saw.

Strollin' Johnny, the current one had none of these atributes, and see how well he turned out.

I can just see John Prescott as PM, next time we have a dispute with the French. The Daily Mail would then have a Leader who really spoke their kind of language. The diplomats would have a collective heart attack....

Why do people automatically assume that Gordon McBrown is the man for the job? He has been an integral part of the blair machine that has caused war, international chaos & suffering. He also presided over the devaluation of the UK's occupational pension security.

Alan Johnson is my choice. Oh, and he's English!

John was on television this morning in interview. It was without doubt one of the finest and most interesting interviews I have listened to. It is about time people stopped knocking this truly great, venerable and venerated stalwart of the old Labour left.

Love him or hate him you don't get to be Deputy Prime Minister of your country for nowt. At least he has the courage to stick his head above the parapet, speak his mind and show the world what a working class kid can do without the benefit of class privilage.

Good luck to him I say.

Here is a question for those who know Prezza.

Does he still hop off the London - Hull train as it stops at Doncaster? He used to have deep and meaningful discussions with the MP for the area - Rosie Boycott.

Not that I am one to gossip you understand.........

"the next prime minister will be David Cameron". Not until and unless there's an election in which the Tories get into power.

The most likely outcome when there's an election in a couple of years time will be a hung parliament, with the Liberals backing whoever agrees to introduce electoral reform.

What have John Prescott and Margaret Thatcher got in common:
Well it seems that they both think firemen "may be gallant heros when they're saving peoples lives, but just a bunch of layabouts when they're for a rise." (Ewan MaColl).

The difference of course is Margaret Thatcher was never a union leader.
