Subject: RE: BS: Earth-shatterin' Housework Question??? From: Becca72 Date: 26 Sep 06 - 06:57 PM Put me down for the "top to bottom" vote. Anything wiped off a higher surface is going to end up on the floor so you may as well do that last. |
Subject: RE: BS: Earth-shatterin' Housework Question??? From: wysiwyg Date: 26 Sep 06 - 07:01 PM It's so o-bivious. Whoever is doing the cleaning makes the rules for that day's cleaning. It's like the old argument over which way to hang the TP. Hang it with end dangling over, or dangling under? Who cares! The correct answer is, "You're supposed to hang it UP." Tell my friend P-Vine I said so, OK? Don't make me come over there again. ~Susan |
Subject: RE: BS: Earth-shatterin' Housework Question??? From: LilyFestre Date: 26 Sep 06 - 07:41 PM Hey Bobert, old pal...personally, I do the floor last in the bathroom...that's just how I like to do it. If the love of my life cleaned the floor, then the potty and tub, I wouldn't be complaining one bit...I'd be happy for the extra hand and I bet your love will be happy either way too! However, if you are talking about the living room or any other room that requires any amount of dusting...ALWAYS do the floor first, take a break, let the dust that you just kicked up have time to settle, THEN dust. That's how it works here, anyway! You just earned points in my book...any man who helps his wife with the cleaning can't be ALL bad *GRIN* Michelle |
Subject: RE: BS: Earth-shatterin' Housework Question??? From: JennyO Date: 26 Sep 06 - 11:03 PM Bath/shower, WALLS - especially near the toilet (you DO know about aerosol effect, don't you?), then the basin, after you've done all the other surfaces and used it to rinse cloths etc in, then the floor last of all as you back out, as others have said. I always do the floor last in other rooms as well - seems logical as dust and dirt falls DOWN. And in a brief stint as a housemaid in a posh motel, that's what they told us as well. |
Subject: RE: BS: Earth-shatterin' Housework Question??? From: Rapparee Date: 26 Sep 06 - 11:12 PM Bobert, since when do you have a floor? You gettin' fancy on us? |

Thankee all for your support 'cause I was the floor-last half of the disagreement and I have brought it to P-Vine's attention that she, Irish danged washer woman or not, is in the minority... Of course she now denies ever havin' the discussion in the first place... Geeze, first argument I might have ever won and now I'm told it never happened??? And after cleaning tirdies and sinks and all kinds of nasty things and it all comes down to this??? No victory lap... No, "Sorry, GHoney, you were right"... No nuthin' except... ... P-Vine's relatives have come and gone and the bathrooms are clean, clean, clean... Might of fact, thew entire joint is way to clean fir my tastes... Ain't no operation room, is it... Not to fear... We'll trash it in no time... Bobert |
