Subject: BS: Air America Bankrupt? Horrors! From: DougR Date: 16 Oct 06 - 02:47 PM I heard the other day (on Fox News of course) that Air America, the Liberal talk radio network is filing for bankruptsy. How sad. Evidently Georgoe Soros and his buddies got tired of pouring money down a dry hole. Anybody going to miss it? DougR |

I'd fly with them but I don't think I want to know where they're going & I don't think that they'd want to take me to where I'd want to be. They're probably to busy anyway, with the extraditions & all. BArry |

Subject: RE: BS: Air America Bankrupt? Horrors! From: GUEST,Urbane Guerrilla Date: 16 Oct 06 - 09:17 PM It's still a sign that Air America isn't succeeding on its own merits, which in its turn suggests that unlike Sean Hannity, Bill O'Reilly, and Rush Limbaugh, they simply haven't any. America is turning permanently away from the collectivist-socialist Left and back to real virtue, can-do-ness, and individual control and responsibility. This can be nothing but good. |

" Guest I do hope your tongue is in your cheek. What does 'virtue' consist of when 'can-do-ness' has been overwhelmed by governmental fiat, 'individual control' is a joke and who in our current government takes 'responsibility'? |

Subject: RE: BS: Air America Bankrupt? Horrors! From: Ron Davies Date: 16 Oct 06 - 10:48 PM Gee, maybe liberals don't need their "talking points" pre-digested a la Limbaugh. Perhaps they actually like to think for themselves--you might try it sometime, Doug. By the way, how did your application (for a cashier or stockboy job at Walmart) pan out? |
Subject: RE: BS: Air America Bankrupt? Horrors! From: DougR Date: 19 Oct 06 - 01:37 AM Ron:Right. Liberals don't need "talking points." Why? They have none unless bitching counts for one. I'm well beyond applying for jobs anywhere, Ron my friend, at Wal-Mart or anywhere else. I'm a bit surprised that the Liberal contingent here at the Mudcat couldn't raise enough money among themselves, though, to keep Air America on the air. Otherwise how shall your message of despair and defeat reach the general population? Oh, I forgot, if the general population had listened to Air America, it might still be on the air. Oh well. DougR |

Subject: RE: BS: Air America Bankrupt? Horrors! From: Amergin Date: 19 Oct 06 - 09:06 AM Doug, it is still on the air. As far as the right is concerned all I hear from them are attacks, personal attacks on those whom they disagree with and those who dare to have an opinion of their own. |

Subject: RE: BS: Air America Bankrupt? Horrors! From: DougR Date: 19 Oct 06 - 12:28 PM TIA:I assume you, appropriatly, directed your remark to Amergin. Subject: RE: BS: Air America Bankrupt? Horrors! From: GUEST Date: 19 Oct 06 - 12:32 PM The right wing mudslingers are still on the air because they are financed by media conglomerates. They didn't have to start a network from scratch to get an opinion other than the right wing conservative opinion on the air. KILL THE FCC. |
Subject: RE: BS: Air America Bankrupt? Horrors! From: Greg F. Date: 19 Oct 06 - 05:53 PM Personal attacks on those with whom they disagree is the franchise, as far as I'm concerned, of the Far Left! Then it becomes immediately obvious that you've never actually listened to Limbaugh or any of the other right-wing gobshites whose praises you regularly sing. Imagine my surprise. |
Subject: RE: BS: Air America Bankrupt? Horrors! From: DougR Date: 19 Oct 06 - 07:58 PM Why listen to Rush? It's evident enough to anyone with eyes here on the Mudcat, and you, Greg are one of the chief attackers! Example: read your own message to me. DougR |

Subject: RE: BS: Air America Bankrupt? Horrors! From: Ron Davies Date: 19 Oct 06 - 11:00 PM Well, Doug, as you may recall, you suggested that a likely reason some of us were criticizing Walmart was that we had been turned down for jobs there. So I suggested that you apply for one of the jobs in question---which was just as likely as the suggestion you made. And, as I said, a possible reason Air America is in financial straits is that its supposed audience-- unlike the Neanderthals who not only listen to Limbaugh, Hannity, et al., but actually believe the tripe they hear on those wonderfully informative programs--does not feel the need to have the party line--any party line-- spoon-fed to them. They prefer to do their own research--and their own thinking. I've seen amazingly little independent thinking on the part of the Limbaugh, etc. devotees. No doubt this explains the brilliant success of Mr Bush and his regime in the propaganda campaigns he has used, especially the one which resulted in the Iraq invasion--and the 2004 campaign. Propaganda is always more effective when a good portion of the electorate is sheep. My own primary choice of information source is, as I've said before, that well-known leftist rag, the Wall St Journal--the actual reporting. And unfortunately, Mr. Bush does not always come out a hero, to put it mildly. |
Subject: RE: BS: Air America Bankrupt? Horrors! From: Greg F. Date: 20 Oct 06 - 10:46 AM Why listen to Rush? It's evident enough to anyone with eyes... Absolutely right, Douggie! Subject: RE: BS: Air America Bankrupt? Horrors! From: kendall Date: 21 Oct 06 - 09:18 AM I don't know about other liberals, but I never spend any time listening to any of those loudmouth opinionated propagandists, left or right. I do believe that Rush Limbaugh is popular because there are so many people who thrive on negativity and he shovels it out by the ton. Have you ever noticed that the news is always bad? That's because good news doesn't sell. Rush blames the democrats for everything, including his own drug addiction. |
Subject: RE: BS: Air America Bankrupt? Horrors! From: Bobert Date: 21 Oct 06 - 09:45 AM Well, well, well... Dougie seems to not understand the realtionship between corporate America, i.e. Boss Hog and the FCC... The deck is stacked heavily against any leftie radio station surviving in a pool filled with rightie sharks... Heck, Clear Channel alone, which is a major player in the Repb circle jerk, owns some 1200 stations accross America... Yeah, I have to agree with GUEST when he says screw the FCC...The FCC is no different than the Mafia... Bobert |

Subject: RE: BS: Air America Bankrupt? Horrors! From: Ebbie Date: 17 Dec 06 - 06:10 PM "Why listen to Rush?" DougR It appears likely that DougR is not in Rush's audience. Maybe he only thinks he likes what Rush says, and the way he says it. One of my brothers had never seen an Arnold Swartzenegger movie- you know, the Terminator ilk? But, he says, he used to say that he liked AS movies, figuring that he would like them if he saw them, them being action movies and all. Then one day he saw one of them. He was appalled. And mortified at the impression of himself he had been giving other people. Is that you, cousin? |
