Heavens, I nearly forgot! Yesterday was Splott Man's birthday, and we're having a music session in the Boar's Head at Tyle Garw, close to Talbot Green, tonight. Olly and I are taking a taxi...

The Boar's Head (affectionately known as The Whore's Bed) is a little haven of real ale, both Welsh and otherwise. It's a fine gem - behind the bar, eight handpumps are eager to quench your raging thirst - all at cheap prices, I might add. Real ale addicts have been known to face eastwards (or whatever compass point they are) and give thanks for good beer and for the Boar's Head. Long may it continue!

Well, it was a hell of a party! Melodeons, fiddles, harmonicas, an anglo-concertina, a tabwrdd and spoons led the crowded session, and I stuck to the oyster stout - it was so nice! Happy birthday, Ned.

Thanks everyone, it was indeed a great evening, I managed 4 different ales, in my new pewter that my son bought me. It later turned (by default) into a belated house-warming party.
It's the bus pass next year!
