Subject: BS: a nearly thread From: GUEST,Partridge Date: 20 Nov 06 - 02:41 PM Have you ever nearly started a thread and then not. I've looked back at my history on this site, both as Patrish and Partridge and I have to be honest sometimes I should have thought more carefully. On the very odd occasion when I have posted as guest I really should have thought again. Some of the posts have given me sooooooo much help and I am so very thankfull to you all. I was going to post a sad old thread about how miserable I felt cos its nearly a year(28th november) since my lovely Dad died. He was the very best dad in the world and I miss him so much. We used to drink red wine together and sing and he would do harmonies. I know he is still around me at times because I recognise the signs(go on clinton tell me I'm daft :-) But its still hard. Yes this is a nearly thread Much love to you all a very tearful Pat xxxx |

Subject: RE: BS: a nearly thread From: Paul Burke Date: 21 Nov 06 - 03:20 AM Of course your dad's still around you. Even a hardboiled rationalist sceptic like me will agree with that. He's inside your head, he's integrated into everything you know about the world. Which, if you think in a vaguely Buddhist way (you don't see reality, you see what you think is reality) is the way he always was. So nurture him, and if you've got kids pass on the stories so he stays around for another generation. And write it all down, that could keep him going for many more years. Tough time to have such sad but sweet memories, with the winter just getting miserable and the days so short, so why not celebrate a half- anniversary next time, in May? |

Subject: RE: BS: a nearly thread From: John MacKenzie Date: 22 Nov 06 - 04:41 PM He lives on in you Pat, it's all the immortality most of us get, and I for one will be happy to live on in the memories of my one and only son. Who needs fame when you have love? Giok |
