Subject: BS: Stone accused of attempted murder From: Den Date: 25 Nov 06 - 12:12 PM Michael Stone was today accused of the attempted murder of Gerry Adams, Martin McGuinness and two security staff at Stormont. More like a sad publicity stunt by an even sadder individual. Stone is obviously missing basking in the limelight of his glory days. |
Subject: RE: BS: Stone accused of attempted murder From: Keith A of Hertford Date: 25 Nov 06 - 12:30 PM He did not put up much of a fight did he. And he did not have a real gun. Divis Sweeney said he had been involved in reconcilliation lately. I saw him with Desmond Tutu doing that sort of thing a while back. Bizarre behaviour yesterday. It will cost him his GF release from life sentence. |
Subject: RE: BS: Stone accused of attempted murder From: GUEST Date: 25 Nov 06 - 01:01 PM How come Gerry Asams was never accused of any crimes. |
Subject: RE: BS: Stone accused of attempted murder From: GUEST,beachcomber Date: 25 Nov 06 - 03:53 PM Well the whole episode should certainly have the effect of changing the opinions of Messers Adams and McGuinness concerning the PSNI ??? |
Subject: RE: BS: Stone accused of attempted murder From: ard mhacha Date: 25 Nov 06 - 03:59 PM Beachcomber the PSNI were not involved, in fact they were not there, Stone was disarmed by a security man. |
Subject: RE: BS: Stone accused of attempted murder From: Den Date: 25 Nov 06 - 04:35 PM He was actually wrestled to the ground initially by a security woman. That took some guts, good for her. Guest, you would have to ask the PSNI why Gerry Asams as you call him has never been charged with any crime, because they would, without doubt have been tripping over each other to arrest him. |
Subject: RE: BS: Stone accused of attempted murder (Ireland From: ard mhacha Date: 25 Nov 06 - 04:45 PM Did you see her?, Gillette Mach 3 would have been useless, I think she shaves with a blowlamp |
Subject: RE: BS: Stone accused of attempted murder (Ireland From: Divis Sweeney Date: 25 Nov 06 - 05:08 PM Spoke to some of the Sinn Fein team that were there. He actually said "No Surrender" "Your a bastard Paisley" "You are selling Ulster Paisley". And this morning they charged him with attempted murder of Martin and Gerry ??????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????? I think it was Paisley he was looking don't you ? It wasn't a stunt, he has got totally lost in drugs over the past six months after a family problem. Not as sinister as it looks. |
Subject: RE: BS: Stone accused of attempted murder (Ireland From: Divis Sweeney Date: 25 Nov 06 - 05:11 PM Sorry meant to add, Irish drugs, not English, can't risk offending anyone. His behaviour was Irish too. This is the type of person that we have over here in this crime ridden country. Divis. |

Subject: RE: BS: Stone accused of attempted murder (Ireland) From: GUEST Date: 25 Nov 06 - 09:25 PM Easy to get off on a charge of Attempted on our Gerry & Martin, if it can be proved that was not what he was at (if ye falla') |
Subject: RE: BS: Stone accused of attempted murder (Ireland) From: Big Al Whittle Date: 25 Nov 06 - 11:28 PM Personal problems, my arse........ he's bonkers. Personal problems are when you wear a track suit and go on the Jeremy Kyle Show, and tell evrybody you love them to bits even though you can't stop taking drugs and beating them up. In his present state this guy's problems have spilled out from his personal zone. and given his history they shouldn't be in too much of a rush to let him out. Whoever he was trying to kill is an irrelevance, it could be you. |
Subject: RE: BS: Stone accused of attempted murder (Ireland) From: Den Date: 25 Nov 06 - 11:29 PM Don't think so Guest. He should at least go down for stupidity. I also read that he spray painted, "Sinn Fein/IRA scum on a pillar outside Stormont before entering the building. |

Subject: RE: BS: Stone accused of attempted murder (Ireland) From: Big Al Whittle Date: 26 Nov 06 - 08:50 AM Well he seemed to have some people clapping him on the shoulder and telling him he was a good bloke for shooting all those people at the cemetery. at least he didn't kill anyone this time. that's an improvement. just shows how prison can help reform a personality. |
Subject: RE: BS: Stone accused of attempted murder (Ireland) From: GUEST,NellieClatt Date: 26 Nov 06 - 08:56 AM It certainly shows the value of ther Good Friday Agreement. |
Subject: RE: BS: Stone accused of attempted murder (Ireland From: GUEST Date: 26 Nov 06 - 10:53 AM I think it just shows Stone is fucked up and dangerous and that he is not fit to be out of jail. |

Subject: RE: BS: Stone accused of attempted murder (Ireland From: Divis Sweeney Date: 08 Dec 06 - 06:08 AM There have been more incidents involving firearms in the city of Manchester than the whole of the North of Ireland last year. Yes there was a Provisional IRA ceasefire in place which progressed to disbandment of the organisation. I cannot speak on behalf of the loyalist organisations. This incident clearly wasn't sanctioned by any of their groupings. |

Subject: RE: BS: Stone accused of attempted murder (Ireland From: Divis Sweeney Date: 08 Dec 06 - 08:09 AM Very true Tom, why bother indeed. As a republican I see our future as important and that's where I will focus my energy. The situation within the unionist camp at present is complex to say the least. I am glad to say that several recent public meetings have shown a greater unity within republicanism than many care to believe. I still hope my aspirations and desires of unity of my island will one day be answered. DS |
Subject: RE: BS: Stone accused of attempted murder (Ireland) From: Alison M Date: 08 Dec 06 - 12:56 PM Well said Divis. Ireland's future is very important to Ireland, so the children who live there won't be raised with all the hurt and hatred the same as their parents have been through. Some republicans say that if Ireland is united with an Irish rule then all the IRAs will finally agree to all be at peace in Ireland. I guess the concern is really to do with the UDA as they have threaten to bomb England/Ireland if Ireland because united with an Irish rule instead of a British rule. I think they are afraid of change as this would be a very big change for them and they would feel betrayed by the British. |
Subject: RE: BS: Stone accused of attempted murder (Ireland From: McGrath of Harlow Date: 19 Dec 06 - 11:08 AM Stone's attack 'performance art' Stone's defence lawyer Arthur Harvey, QC, said he had received instructions from Stone that the incident, which caused chaos at Stormont and led to the evacuation of Parliament Buildings, was not intended to endanger the life of anyone. "It was, in fact, a piece of performance art replicating a terrorist attack," said Mr Harvey. I commented up the thread how Michael Stone looks a lot like Billy Connolly. Clearly it isn't just a matter of looks. |
