I know alot of mudcatters are familiar with the Tap & Spile in Whitby so thought you'd like to know that the landlord & landlady (Pete & Sheree)will be leaving the Tap, probably at the end of January. Not sure how this will leave the usualy folkie gatherings that we have in the pub but I'll keep you posted.

Jude

Jude

Please pass on thanks and best wishes from me too! I found a lot of new friends in the Tap and Spile thanks to your* singarounds, so I hope the usual folkie gatherings will carry on!

Kitty

* - the thanks include McDonald, Booker and Padgett, though I think you hosted most of the singarounds I got to.....

Too many questions guys. I don't know why they're going - probably just had enough of the long hours & hard work. They're temporarily moving a bit further north but I think their intention is to settle in Whitby.
Les - yes think Barbara's coming to M&C.
Merry Christmas to everyone not coming up for New Year
Jude

This is sad news although I can understand them wanting to leave the long hours behind. We shall see you, Jude,(and others whose tag-names I don't recognise but whose faces I would),at New Year. Is there a theme?

New guy has served at the Tap in the past, so knows what the current setup is.

He is said to intend keeping things much as they are now. I just hope that this is more sincerely meant than a politician's "We have no current plans to...", which I always take to mean "That plan is supposed to be secret for now."

Ray; the Elliotts have been sunning themselves for a few weeks, but their return is imminent (if it hasn't occurred in the last 2-3 days).

I will be in town for almost all of the Christmas season, but work will keep me out of the boozers for most of it.

Paul

Blimey everytime I hae a look at this there's more blooming questions....
Kitty & Mary - will pass on your good wishes to Pete & Sheree.
John & Debbie - New years eve fancy dress theme is that each individual has to come dressed as the name of a pop/rock group (don't worry to don't have to sing one of the band songs). treasure hunt is on Friday 29th if you're around for that.
Ray - Paul's answered most of your hundred questions but yes - Derek & Mary are coming up, not sure about Lynne & Pat. Got a txt from Wendy tonight - she's back next week & will be around for new year
Cheers all
Jude

As most of you will know Peter & Sheree are leaving the TAP & SPILE at the end of January. Those who where there at New Year had the opportunity to sign a thank you/best wishes card, however I know there's a lot of you out there that would like to thank them & wish them all the best for the future.

What a good do, great atmosphere, a thoroughly enjoyable night was had my me (and I think all) even the shipping areas being chalked out on the floor (and my sweatshirt).

I had two friends over from Leeds and they had a great night too
