Hi Catters

I know there are many Wiccans and Pagans in the Cat Community and I just wanted to let you know that Reg Griffiths, High Priest of House of Avalon in Milton Keynes, is in the last stages of this life. I'm not sure if anyone, apart from Mingulay and Frog knows him, but if you do, and even if you don't, please send thoughts to him.

Well, I spoke to him on the telephone a couple of days ago and he is still with us and quite chipper. He's very upbeat about the whole thing and says he is looking forward to the next step on his journey.

a great man, husband and sage has passed into the summerlands. his spirit will rest and return to all who loved him as was promised. I know in the past we have rarely seen eye to eye but my respects and those of the silver owls, tuatha didana and all hedge witches who have worked with us go out to his spirit. we also wish well to Dot and all her family, coven and friends. may the peace of the Goddess and the love of the craft community come down on the heads of those who grieve. My earliest memory of Reg was when I was 6. He lifted me up and placed me upon his knee. He gave me a cuddle and his beard tickled my face. I giggled and told him that he looked like a Wizard with his long beard. He laughed and replied 'I am one'. Enchanted by his voice, I told him in a childlike way, if he was a Wizard, then he should have magic powers? He replied 'I do' I then in disbelief said No, like most children do, when they think the wool is being pulled over their eyes. Unsatisfied with his answer, I crossed my elbows, puckered my lips and said I did not believe him.
I remember, he slowly opened my crossed arms and looked deep into my eyes...
I thought then, if I told him about my nightmares of the monsters coming to get me and if he could make them disappear, I would then believe him. So I told him.
He then took my hand and whispered in my ear, 'imagine me as a strong powerful Wizard holding your hand, zapping away the monsters with a magic wand.
Imagine this when I go to sleep tonight and I am to do every night till they all disappear.'
I did exactly that and the monsters became less and less in my thoughts that night and all nights after that.
My nightmares started when my father left us. I realised that when he went, I felt all alone and unprotected. As the nightmares faded away, it helped me to accept that my father was not coming back. I am 27 now.
Dot and Reg have consoled my Mum and family through more than one difficult time.
I know that Reg is a magical person and always will be my hero.

I first met Dot & Reg in the 1970's at psychic fairs. After I was initiated in the 1980's I had the great pleasure of working with them on occasion in both private and public ceremonies, and at fairs with their House of Avalon.
Reg was one of natures gentlemen who didn't stand for any crap from anyone. My type of person.
I only learnt of the death tonight from Mad Mick.
I know theres a good party going on over there on the other side right now.

Seeing the funeral details in the local paper yesterday, I doubt I will be unable to attend and pay my respects, although I will have a candle burning. I have known Dot & Reg for a number of years now and I'll miss Reg, he was a great guy with a fantastic sense of fun and laughter. I did not know him personally but as a Wiccan he was my Brother.

He was one of the kindest people I have ever met. I stayed with Reg and Dot twice, they made me feel very welcome. I wish him well on his journey.

Dear Brothers and Sisters,
I was saddened to hear of Reg's Passing and my sympathy and best wishes go to Dot.
I am sure the rest of Reg's journey will be a riotus affair with all the people who have gone before glorying in the company of the immortals.
Dot and Reg were an institute at phycic fairs, and touched on many peoples lives and still are well loved by Lesley and myself.
We will always be grateful to Reg, Dot and Anton for bringing us together.

hey guys..
i feel a lil out of place (in the sense that this is a wiccan community forum - and i am not in the strictest sense wiccan.. lol), but i felt i would like to mark the passing of reg, as i knew him for some time, and feel utter, utter sympathy for dot and their family, as well as the 'family' he has left behind him in the number of you guys who have already mourned him.
in the short'ish' time i had the good fortune to know mr. griffiths, i always found him to be utterly charming, charismatic, and yet with a sense of 'naughty' about him.
i truly hope that with the next journey of life in front of him, he has an exceptionally wild time.
i send unreserved amounts of love to all who miss his 'touch' in their lives, and my condolences to dot and their family, also...
look down on me, and help as you can reg, my friend..

Well, the funeral has been held. We gave him a great send-off and Dot, bravely, conducted the ceremony herself. She was brilliant.

People came in their droves - High Priest, Nick, reckoned well over 500. I think the local press were there and I'll post a link when I have it.

Dot has been amazing, keeping going the way she has, but I think she will probably need even more positive thoughts now that the funeral is over. The post-funeral period is usually an anti-climax.

I never got to know Dot an Reg very well i met them 4 or 5 times I think they were good friends of my mum and family but they always made you feel like you were part of there family. Its always sad when someone passes on but its even sadder when you selfishly forget to say thank you for what you have done. all be it late thank you Reg for everything and many thanks to dot if you ever read this. Sorry i could not make the funeral but my thoughts will always be with you both.
