Subject: New Album - LONESTAR STOUT From: JedMarum Date: 03 Feb 07 - 06:45 PM Just released a new album. It's a solo, live recording with some favorite Irish songs - plus a Texas/Louisiana twist. It's called Lonestar Stout. There are some sound clips at the link above. |

Subject: RE: New Album - LONESTAR STOUT From: GUEST,Art Thieme Date: 04 Feb 07 - 02:08 PM Jed, Congratulations. It arrived here in fine shape and I'm looking forward to hearing it and the new revised edition of your Fighting Tigers Of Ireland CD. All the best to you, good sir. Art Thieme |
Subject: RE: New Album - LONESTAR STOUT From: JedMarum Date: 06 Feb 07 - 11:10 AM Art - I revised FIGHTING TIGERS because of some technical problems with the first release. It was a hastily put together project, the first time through - and I tho0ught I would only sell a few at the Civil War shows I was doing. But I was pleasantly surprised to see it sell well and continue to sell - so I decided to keep the initial release but resolve some of the mix/mastering problems. I also upgraded the package. I hope you like it. |
Subject: RE: New Album - LONESTAR STOUT From: Jeri Date: 06 Feb 07 - 11:26 AM My first impression was: haha! "Bard of Armagh" followed immediately with "Streets of Laredo" - is this a test? Good job on both. I'm not all the way through it, but I have to say I liked "St James Infirmary" on Streets of Fall River and I like it on this CD. There's something a bit more relaxed in your voice. It's gonna sound good when you sing it no matter what. Well, maybe not when you do the Donald Duck voice. ...and I still like your originals best of all. |
Subject: RE: New Album - LONESTAR STOUT From: Marion Date: 06 Feb 07 - 05:17 PM Congratulations, Jed. I'll get one from CD baby. Which song has the Donald Duck voice? Marion |
Subject: RE: New Album - LONESTAR STOUT From: Jeri Date: 06 Feb 07 - 05:30 PM Joke! There are no Donald Duck voices on the CD. I finished it, and it's a good 'un. I'd never heard 'Goodbye Mick' before, and it's funny. Rhyming 'Ireland' with 'varmint' is weird, but it works. |
Subject: RE: New Album - LONESTAR STOUT From: JedMarum Date: 07 Feb 07 - 10:25 AM hehehehehe - too much fun with rhymes! Actually "St James Infirmary" is on Into the West (a recording of a live show) not Streets of Fall River. No originals on this one - by design - but I did come across some unusual lyrics .... and no Donald Duck voice, Marion - not on purpose, anyway! |
Subject: RE: New Album - LONESTAR STOUT From: JedMarum Date: 08 Feb 07 - 12:17 PM ... got some more plans for this title (LONESTAR STOUT); a series of shows later this year with some great players - all focused on Irish music with a Texas connection or vice versa ... I also have some Tee Shirts in the works, with the logo and a website about to come up, in the next few weeks. I'll return to this thread with updates, in case there's any Mudcat interest. |
Subject: RE: New Album - LONESTAR STOUT From: Wesley S Date: 08 Feb 07 - 12:22 PM Can we assume you'll be selling this at the North Texas Irish Festival is a few weeks? Can I hold out until then? |
Subject: RE: New Album - LONESTAR STOUT From: JedMarum Date: 12 Feb 07 - 04:05 PM Yes - I hope to see you there. |
Subject: RE: New Album - LONESTAR STOUT From: GUEST Date: 16 Feb 07 - 08:32 AM ... and there's Lonestar Stout Tee Shirts too. |
Subject: RE: New Album - LONESTAR STOUT From: GUEST Date: 05 Jan 08 - 07:45 PM The winter tour begins in February in South Texas. Lonestar Stout on Myspace has calendar, info, pics and MP3s. More dates in the works for Spring and Fall ... |
