Wasn't that Status Quo?

"Squeezin down the old dustbox
No ten pound note in my jeans
No room for a cajun cowboy
And a tune from New Orleans

I'm doin' all right now
Among the sheep-shite now

Nah-ne-nah nah Knockers old boy".

Yes John, I will be brewing a 40 pint barrel, and I here that we may be getting some good cider as well. I am also holding my BBQ the week after Knockholt this year and I'll be brewing at least one and probably two barrels for that.

I've been thinking of attending this for the last few years. How do they treat newcomers who don't actually play an instrument, but like to listen?

There's quite a few go who are just there to listen, and they're a friendly bunch of people too. It's a wonderful way to while away a few days so I'd recommend it.

have been going for a few years now, and as a serious non-singer I find the natives very friendly especially after a pint or two, is the punch on again this year?
Whats this with the sheep Richard ewes not even Welsh!!!

A pint or two of that punch, and I'm anybody's although what good I will then be or whether I will remember what to do or a thing afterwards is quite another question.

Oh, and with you Dilli it's not the ewes they are looking at: it's the tewes.

There wont be any daddy longlegs about in June. Last September was just an unlucky combination of factors.

1 Uncut grass.
2 Downpour on Wednesday / Thursday.
3 A week later than usual.
4 They must like TDL's music!

This could be the last Knockholt so let's make it one to remember.

I have been unable to secure leave for that week, but I am working on it.

The person who runs the farm, uncle has passed away. It is the uncle who actually owns the land. So we have to wait and see what will happen to the farm, who it has been left to etc.. before they can give us a decision on future Knockholts.

We don't think there is going to be a problem, but just in case we have identified other places which we can use.

Don't panic jusst yet ;-)

I know daddy long legs are harmless... I just don't like them, especially in huge numbers - thry give me the creeps. Still, quite rightly there shouldn't be any in June. We need loads of people to come, show the new landowner what he might be missing, if only in the way of camping fees !

Daddy Longlegs is the most venemous creature known to mankind!

Half the fun of Knockholt is knowing that you can pop back home, if you really need to, but don't unless you absolutely have to. We could have popped home last September, and been safe and warm, but we chose to sit in our awning, watching the lightening, and the rain roll around the North Downs.

But where I live in Maidstone you have to go up the North Downs. They should be called 'The North Ups' if you ask me.

No one wants to go home from Knockholt! The fire is warm, the welcome is warm and the contents of the bar keeps you warm... no fear of getting cold ;-)

I can't wait. Off to Fordcombe this weekend for our first camp out of the year, so looking forward to sitting around the fire and chilling out.

Doing Knockholt in a tent this year as we are selling our campervan.
