Bear in mind that of a batch of Christmas cards that I sent out on December 15th, to addresses in the UK, one arrived last week, nearly three weeks after the others. Also, as Katlaughing suggested above, PM me to volunteer as a Rescue Santa and I will match you up with someone, but I won't do it until Candlemas (Feb 2nd) to give the post office a chance. A parcel arrived today from jacqui.c ... and she only asked me for my address 5 days ago! I don't know if she's my actual Relief Santa or mailing it on behalf of someone but it was a real delight to receive it! There are a couple of Maine fridge magnets (in a nifty box), and a book of New England recipes (I feel the driving need to make cornbread) and a truly wonderful hand-crocheted teal blue shawl in which I am wrapped even as I type. Exactly MY colour and I've turned off the central heating so I can enjoy it to its full potential ... and make a contribution to energy conservation in the process. Awww ... really ... you didn't have to, people, but what a wonderful treat. Christmas in May! (Unfortunately, we're still enjoying Christmas weather as well, but what the heck!)
