Subject: RE: BS: Secret Santa messages part two From: Rapparee Date: 26 Nov 07 - 11:47 AM While reading the message from my own personal SS in the other thread, I noticed that Tabster's SS recently posted there. MY SS has sent my presents! They include, I'm sure, a new Bentley, a yacht, a pony, several millions of US dollars, and all sorts of neat stuff. |

Subject: RE: BS: Secret Santa messages part two From: artbrooks Date: 26 Nov 07 - 04:55 PM Coldjam, it usually starts right at the beginning of September, with a message from our honored Secret Secretary, Squeeky Lizzie...entitled something like "Secret Santa Time-2008". Everything begins from your responding to that message with "me, too!!" See you next year. |
Subject: RE: BS: Secret Santa messages part two From: GUEST,Tabster's Secret Santa Date: 26 Nov 07 - 09:15 PM Well, if you can't be bothered to read the messages I've posted, well, I just don't know what to do! Good girls would have read every one of the fifty-seven messages. Maybe you'll get coal instead of gold after all. |

Subject: RE: BS: Secret Santa messages part two From: GUEST,Helen's Secret Santa Date: 26 Nov 07 - 09:47 PM Hey Helen, Did my elves carry that little envelope down your way? I hope it got to you OK? |
Subject: RE: BS: Secret Santa messages part two From: Helen Date: 27 Nov 07 - 04:49 AM Hi Santa, Yes, I posted in the other thread, but here it is: Subject: RE: BS: Secret Santa Messages '07-Santas, Come Pla From: Helen - PM Date: 16 Nov 07 - 07:18 PM Newcastle NSW v. New Castle Indiana, huh?? I'm glad you've sorted out your address book now, Santa. Thanks for the lovely postcards. The sparkly bits on Westwood Lake are a particularly impressive effect. How did you get them to jump off the sparkly teddy on the front of the Christmas card and onto the water?? :-) I've been checking this thread regularly, hoping my Santee would reply to my comment from a while back, and secretly hoping for another hint from my Santa, but now I have the snail mail, hard copy instead. Thanks, heaps! Helen |

Subject: RE: BS: Secret Santa messages part two From: GUEST,The Care & Rapaire Santaire Date: 28 Nov 07 - 06:53 AM o woe o the ignominy that's it guys. This santa has had the sack. got the word for head office at cock-crow: my supervisor's been monitoring the threads and reckons my parcel just won't live up to expectations and Rapaire's gonna be a disappointed li'l santee come Christmas morn. I guess I didn't mention before that I was kinda on probation - three strikes, I'm out. And, yeh, I'll allow that maybe sending that sack o' coal to Skipy was a bit hard last year. In my defence, he was cr*p at his hints but he's a nice enough joe and it wouldn't 'ave killed me to give him some leeway. But I still think giving George Dubya "The Dummies Guide to Islam" was a perfeckly good choice of prezzie. Head office didn't agree, so that was 'strike one'. So ... the boys upstairs are, apparently, gonna take over Rapaire's account. THEY say they're gonna do a 'proper' job but I gotta tell ya ... I've seen orders that are sent to Central Clearing and there ain't no tellin' what'll come of it. Best of luck, spuddy. Season's greetings. If you want me, I'll be cleaning out the reindeer stalls ... CaRS (ret.) |
Subject: RE: BS: Secret Santa messages part two From: Megan L Date: 28 Nov 07 - 11:01 AM Dear Santa Please don't demote the poor elf I have it from a reliable source that he was the victim of a rampaging kangaroo who kept trying to stuff him in her pouch. I am sorry about the misleading information about his side trip to visit Jack and Skarpi I was getting the message second hand via a chinese resturant so something might have got lost in translation. The parrot must have held onto the thimble really well cause it made it here in one piece though the postman informs me that they have a policy about not carrying wild birds. I told him he hadn't seen wild birds till he had seen LTS and Lady Penelope when deprived of chocolate or having eaten a haggis and cheese pannini. Yours in best behaviour Meg |
Subject: RE: BS: Secret Santa messages part two From: GUEST,Pseudolus' Secret Santa Date: 28 Nov 07 - 11:53 AM How are you doing? The parcel's all packed! Now, do I send it or not??? |

Subject: RE: BS: Secret Santa messages part two From: ClaireBear Date: 28 Nov 07 - 02:10 PM That reminds me, I'm still being good too, and by the way I ALWAYS wait til Christmas to open my presents! By the way, my (7-year-old) son suggested that this year we leave pizza and beer for Santa; last year it was lasagne and red wine. Does my Santa have a preference? Your very own Santee, ClaireBear |

Subject: RE: BS: Secret Santa messages part two From: Liz the Squeak Date: 28 Nov 07 - 04:56 PM Ah... just because Jack isn't drinking, doesn't mean he can't have fun with others... I got a little parcel in the post today - thank you, you know who you are!! Some beautiful cross stitch patterns and a cut out doll for Limpit... she's a tad worried about the rosy, apple cheeked children as in her experience, most kids that rosy are on something. Megan - I will take that in the spirit with which it was intended to be drunk... seeing as how I'm outside a rather lovely chocolate pudding with melted chocolate centre and chocolate sauce on top. Subject: RE: BS: Secret Santa messages part two From: GUEST,Stilly's stressed-out Santa Date: 28 Nov 07 - 08:00 PM Dear Maggie, due to CBMC (circumstances beyond my control), your parcel may not make it to your tree on time. Rest assured, the stress has not been Christmas-induced and there is no coal what-so-ever in your Christmas parcel of 2007, even if it doesn't arrive until 2008. |
Subject: RE: BS: Secret Santa messages part two From: GUEST,Pseudolus' Secret Santa Date: 29 Nov 07 - 05:51 AM OK. The snails are getting their backpacks ready... |
Subject: RE: BS: Secret Santa messages part two From: GUEST,MeganL's Indefatigable Secret Santa Date: 29 Nov 07 - 07:48 AM Megan, Dearie, it's very decent of you to speak in favour of the little rascal. It shows you're a kind hearted girl, and that should be worth a few points when the calculation of the size of your Christmas presents is made. The victim of a rampaging kangaroo, you say? Hmmm... that might explain why he keeps mumbling in his sleep. I thought he was muttering "Lemme be", but maybe what he's been saying was in fact "Wallaby"? I shall ask him about that the next time he appears to be lucid! As a matter of fact my lead elf (a girl elf this time!!) has just recently reported back to me that a box with your name on it was handed over to the postal elves a couple of days ago. It should - as I write - be winding its way towards the Orkney Isles. When it arrives you may open the box, there's a letter inside explaining how to progress from there. A couple of the presents in the box are a bit delicate, I hope they all survived the ministrations of the postal elves without breaking. Keep watching the mail, Dear! MISS |

Subject: RE: BS: Secret Santa messages part two From: Severn Date: 29 Nov 07 - 09:39 AM Thank you Santa, Your Canadian Mule train got the package here well before December. Last year's package took a bit longer into December to arrive from England. The House Brownies. are mad because the Irish Whiskey ration put out nightly to greet the elves had ended while all the local wee folk, my cat, and some stray wildlife that had gathered nightly to sing in my courtyard have had their revels suspended early. I'll have to keep things up, I guess to keep down any threatened vandalism or grafitti. I'm sure you gave me a wonderful package, but you didn't save me any money. The Party keep on, I guess. Hope your mules and elves got home in one piece. They were in pretty bad shape when they left. Thanks! Severn |
Subject: RE: BS: Secret Santa messages part two From: GUEST,Kim C's exceedingly devious Santa Date: 29 Nov 07 - 11:40 AM Good evening Ms Kim My very capable elf helper has informed me that your main package has been sent on its way today. It is hoped that you will receive the package within the next ten days. Did my other little package ever get to you? I do hope so, although it did have a long way to travel. The latest one doesn't have so far to go. |
Subject: RE: BS: Secret Santa messages part two From: GUEST,Giok's Harried Secret Santa Date: 29 Nov 07 - 01:33 PM Hi, Giok! Your eagerly-awaited (I presume) pressie has just been consigned to the postal peons. Let's hope for the best. They told me it MIGHT get returned to me if I didn't have my real name on the outside of the package -- things are tough in this post-9/11 world. I decided to take a chance and just wrote "Secret Santa," so let's both keep our fingers crossed that it goes through. Assuming the parcel arrives before Christmas, I trust you have enough self-control to wait until The Day to open it! As for the mysterious parcel you received the other day, it wasn't from your "official" Secret Santa -- unless you have two! Your Secret Santa |
Subject: RE: BS: Secret Santa messages part two From: Stilly River Sage Date: 29 Nov 07 - 06:03 PM OH NO! Anything I can do to help, Santa? Some therapeutic herbs in the rooftop snack for the reindeer (and they'll be accessing the neighborhood on a new, improved class 4 roof, by the way!) Some vitamins in the milk with your cookies? Something stronger? SRS |
Subject: RE: BS: Secret Santa messages part two From: JennieG Date: 29 Nov 07 - 08:18 PM I have been cleaning out the chimney just in case Santa needs to enter the house that way.....I hope you are not allergic to cats Santa, because there will probably be a welcoming committee when you drop down! Cheers Jennie |
Subject: RE: BS: Secret Santa messages part two From: Anne Lister Date: 30 Nov 07 - 02:46 AM I'm sure I've been as good as I can and I've done my best to read every single message from you, Santa, even when they were a bit hurtful *sniff* and accusing me of stuff I didn't do *snuffle*. And I really, really, don't deserve to only get coal this year *sob*. I'll just go and sit in a quiet corner until I feel better. Tabs |
Subject: RE: BS: Secret Santa messages part two From: John MacKenzie Date: 30 Nov 07 - 05:12 AM Dear Santa I thank you for your communication and assure you of my good behaviour, albeit pro tem. I did find that the other parcel was from a different source, good job too, as it contained goods for another person, as well as for me and mine. I have 2 chimneys available for use, neither of which have been used since last Christmas, when a whole Boat came down one. Devotedly and sycophantically yours. Giok |
Subject: RE: BS: Secret Santa messages part two From: GUEST,Artbrooks's terribly tardy SS Date: 30 Nov 07 - 10:19 AM I have been a bad Santa and not posted here for quite a while. It's been hell up here in the North Pole. The reindeer have been stuck in the snow, and the internet froze up and all the little packets wouldn't move. Nevertheless, my elves and I are toiling hard to bring you some Christmas Joy in the not too distant future. Just as soon as I can get out the door and dig them out (the reindeer, that is). |
Subject: RE: BS: Secret Santa messages part two From: GUEST,Pseudolus' Secret Santa Date: 30 Nov 07 - 11:19 AM OK, it's on its way!! You may open it when it arrives, but you MUST MUST MUST ignore the boring give-away customs sticker on the outside. Get someone to divert the parcel and take it off, if you can, or the present may self-destruct through not following the rules properly! |
Subject: RE: BS: Secret Santa messages part two From: GUEST,Mrzzy's SS Date: 30 Nov 07 - 12:13 PM The elves have taken charge of a package and it is now en route to you. How long it will take depends on the drinking habits of the elves as well as weather conditions and the mood of the reindeer, but I'm hoping you'll receive it well before the Actual Day. We're also a little dependent on the good will of the customs officials, having fudged the customs label to some extent, but we have crossed fingers that all will go well. Do not open ahead of time ...or all will turn to ashes and cinders ... Your well-disposed Santa |
Subject: RE: BS: Secret Santa messages part two From: GUEST,Dave'sWife's Santa's CRE Date: 30 Nov 07 - 01:41 PM Calling Dave'sWife... Santa is wondering if you are still speaking to him; he hasn't heard from you since he sent you that postcard. Is there something about Tarheel Pie that offended you? No, Santa's not Tarheel, in case you were worried. Mrs. Claus made a simply smashing chess pie recently. All the elves enjoyed it. I might be able to prevail on her to share the recipe. Packages are being assembled, here at the Pole. But some of the, errm, more exotic items have yet to matrialise. We hope to be timely, nonetheless. Do you have any colour preferences beyond 'not orange'? Just wondering... Yours in haste, Silenus Charm, Santa's Crack Research Elf |

Subject: RE: BS: Secret Santa messages part two From: GUEST,Tabster's Secret Santa Date: 30 Nov 07 - 02:29 PM Well, I'll be. That last post was from me, but the elves in the Computer Centre messed it up. Well, I'll deal with them later. What I had posted was that you, Tabster, had had your very own name put into the wrong book! "Tubster" is the one who has been so very very bad; except for the slight incident with the pasta YOU have been have been Extremely Good And In Fact Almost Saintly. In order to make up to you the damage done (and since corrected) you will be receiving some nice things. At least, Santa thinks they're nice. And to expiate his sin of confusing you and Tubster (the cad!) Mugwort Fingerfail, former Clerk in the Office of Naughty or Nice, has been Some Christases Santa just can't get good help. |
Subject: RE: BS: Secret Santa messages part two From: Anne Lister Date: 30 Nov 07 - 05:05 PM Thank you, Santa ...I'm now feeling reassured and eagerly anticipating my sackful of goodies. The pasta incident? You mean you heard about the lasagne? Those surveillance elves of yours don't miss a trick, do they? But I did attempt to make amends by assisting several elderly people to cross the road and putting all my spare change into charity boxes. As to Tubster, what a difference a vowel makes! Did I mention in a previous post that the chimney on our house is for decorative purposes only? I'd hate you to try to wriggle down it and find yourself stuck in the attic. Season's greetings! Tabs |

Subject: RE: BS: Secret Santa messages part two From: bfdk Date: 03 Dec 07 - 06:01 AM Esteemed BOSS Santa, Thank you, I shall be looking forward to your communication. I'm actually very good at keeping my fingers to myself. Last year's SS pressie sat undisturbed in a corner from late November until the afternoon of the 24th when I opened the OUTER box and allowed myself to open ONE of the individually wrapped gifts inside (I went straight for the CD-shaped one, I must admit.. ;-)). The rest were opened on Christmas Eve. So, you may safely assume that I can do likewise this year. Something to keep me quiet for a bit? Uhm... not a gag and a signed photo of George W. Bush, I hope? That *would* scare me into silence and not only for a bit, that's for sure! Esteemed BOSS Santa, you keep talking of edibles, Danish pastry, bacon slices and the like.. Do you work in the food industry or catering business, by any chance? Reverent greetings, Bente Meg and Giok - "By their friends shall ye know them", eh? Oops, guess I just incriminated myself big time there!! |

Subject: RE: BS: Secret Santa messages part two From: GUEST,Elf Droopydrawers, pondering.. Date: 03 Dec 07 - 07:02 PM I do wonder what it was Drippynose saw when he was peeking in Secsy's window the other night.. The way he was behaving, I really ought to report it to Elf Snugglebutt. I mean, first his eyes were popping almost out of his head, just like that elf Dobby in Harry Potter. And then his hands started making what looked like completely involuntary movements and his whole body went entirely rigid. I had to drag him out of there, and all the while he was muttering almost unintelligible words. The only word that did make a bit of sense was 'tits'. But somehow I don't think the blue tits or the great tits were out that time of the night? I wish I could have seen what he saw, then I would be in a much better position to judge whether or not it's necessary to report the incident. I know, I should in fact report it to Elf Snugglebutt, but on the other hand I'd be sorry to grass on a mate. It's not the done thing, it just isn't. And nothing happened, he recovered his senses eventually. Never let on what he had seen, though. Drippynose is a mate, and I won't be the one betraying a mate. Nah... I won't tell her. She can figure it out for herself, that would be different, but she's not going to hear about it from me.. There, I feel better now that I've taken that decision! And speaking of Snugglebutt, I'd better go and take over, it must be time for my watch soon, anyway. *Elf Droopydrawers wanders off into the night, still mumbling to himself |

Subject: RE: BS: Secret Santa messages part two From: JennieG Date: 04 Dec 07 - 01:28 AM Santa I am being so good you wouldn't believe it!! The Opera House carpark is probably big enough for the sleigh and reindeer but you must remember it's underground, will that bother them? And it's not free either. You are welcome to park in our driveway....it's not very big and already has 2 cars.....and the front lawn is taken up with the caravan. Cheers JennieG getting all breathless with anticipation although I have already had correspondence from a Friend of Santa in Denmark! |
Subject: RE: BS: Secret Santa messages part two From: Liz the Squeak Date: 04 Dec 07 - 03:30 AM Elf Droopydrawers - What Drippynose saw was totally innocent. I admit, I was looking at tits, but only to see if they were coping with the cold weather. Their pecker hasn't been used for some time and I needed to make sure it was still fit to eat. Or it might have been me training robins to sit on pieces of coloured paper whilst I take pictures of them to use as greetings cards. It was all done very humanely (or robinely) and the only creature to suffer was the little pink worm used to coax the robin into position. Any news on your Postal Elf yet? He didn't seem very happy a few posts up... perhaps he should get himself a Union Rep and some time off for work related, stress induced illness. SECSY LTS |
Subject: RE: BS: Secret Santa messages part two From: GUEST,Report to The Big Man from Snugglebutt Date: 04 Dec 07 - 05:09 AM THATS IT NO MORE Try putting me on a watchout with that pair of silly boys again and the entire girl elf population will be called out on strike and you know what that means. NO MORE HOT CHOCOLATE!! Drippynose is silly beyond belief of course I know what Droopydrawers saw indeed I saw it myself he really has been away from the pole for to long. Mind you I didn't think a woman fondling a feeding log could have such an effect on a boy elf. The cruelty to pink squirmy things was duely noted and reported but the Robin looked most happy to oblige by sitting still while she used the impograph. Imps down here must be an awful lot smaller than home or perhaps they have found some way of looking at the thing they are painting without actually having to be there because she came inside and attatched the little box to a bigger box and there was the robin nicely painted. Next year do not send me to watch anyone who sews. I only sat down for a moment to rest dratted woman isn't fussy where she leaves her needle. Drippynose had to apply the plaster that blighter Droopydrawers could do nothing for rolling on the floor laughing it's a wonder he didn't wake Seccsy up. Please Please Please let me come home now before i murder those two. Yours Senior investigator Elf Snugglebutt |
Subject: RE: BS: Secret Santa messages part two From: greg stephens Date: 04 Dec 07 - 07:07 AM Well, I'm not sure what these threads are for exactly, I've not been keeping up. But I can report, and I hope that this is the appropriate place, that Santa has delivered a mysterious parcel from our former colony in the Americas. So I have put it under the Christmas tree, or more accurately in the place that will be under the Christmas tree when we actually get a Christmas tree.Which will not be for a couple of weeks yet, however often they play Jingle Bells down in Sainsbury's. Thank you Secret Santa, you can stop worrying about the postal service now. |
Subject: RE: BS: Secret Santa messages part two From: Liz the Squeak Date: 04 Dec 07 - 10:24 AM Look, I may not have been very kind to the pink squirmy thing but at least it died happy in that bottle of Tequila before I used it to tempt the red breasted bird. Subject: RE: BS: Secret Santa messages part two From: GUEST,Peg Leg Pierce, Christmas Pirate Date: 04 Dec 07 - 09:30 PM Oy - Sarah! Sorry to be so silent fer so longs. I bins out to sea, as pirates often arrrrrhh. bwahaha. So today I comes ashore with a box of pressies for ye and hands 'em off to some landlubber guy who says he signs them Customs declarations as "Desanta". I tells 'im to put my name onnit but when I calls 'im up to see iffin he don the deed proper, he brags that he went and signed the blasted paper as "Desanta" or maybe "D Santa" - I dunno. Stoopid landlubber. Anyways - he swears on his mothers grave that the box is bound to arrive at yer office in 7 to 10 days so them pressies ought be in yer own hands no later than the 15th. If they ain't in yer hands by then must be that other pirates hijacked the plane! I woulda sent 'em by ship but seeing as some of them pressies are meant to be enjoyed afore Christmas so as to heighten the Yultide spirit n all, I couldn't risk lettin the box fall into enemy pirate hands and then me havin' ta negotiate their release and so on. So - when ye gets yer pressie box - open it up. Any pressies resding therein which is not wrapped in green paper ais to be consumed and /or enjoyed promptly. Some assembly will be required for one of them. it is imperative that ye builds that thing afore Christmas day. Oh also inside is a thing ye has to leave out fer the real Santa man. No it's not milk an biscuits - thems ye has to come by on yer owns. Sadly, I wasn't able to include and music discs things in the pressie box. Those to come later by ship. Christmas Pirate rules say I have until Epiphany to get ALL the pressies to your door. Now, are ye going to holiday away from the address I gots? iffin yes, ye may not gets the music dics pressies until after ye gets back from yer holiday. I gots to shove out of port soon. That Desanta feller will get some other stuff to mail ta yez in a week or so. I'll be off to sea in another day or so so I hope yez be readin the thread. Very truly Yours Peg Leg Pierce Christmas Pirate |

Suspicion was first aroused when they called in sick and the phone machine tape sounded like they were saying they'd "taken absinthe without leave". Is THAT what you gave them? Anyway, if they're not back to work and ready for the next assignment by next Monday, you will have many more visitors who kick ass and take names when enforcing the International Fugitive Elf Laws as laid down by the Dreaded Scout Decision. Albyemeeze Elf and Besidemeeze Elf (They probably introduced themselves as Albie and Sid) have been bad little boys and will be dealt with in their own way and time, but let them moonlight for you for a few days in search of Borrowers, pairs of scissors and unmatched single socks, as they brought the delivery job in ahead of schedule. Any further tardiness, though, will NOT be condoned! This from one who knows and sees all, and who will be closly monitoring videotape, AND who has the power to transform your precious pressie into something else entirely if crossed. Subject: RE: BS: Secret Santa messages part two From: Wesley S Date: 07 Dec 07 - 09:27 AM The following was written by a local comedy group called "Four Day Weekend" Bush Shocked To Find Osama Bin Laden Was His Secret Santa Washington, DC—President Bush learned the identity of his secret Santa early Sunday morning after nearly a month of speculation by the Chief Executive. Bush found a note tucked into his final present of the season that said, "Surprise! It's me. Osama bin Santa." President Bush was surprised by the revelation. "Boy, do I have egg on my face today," admitted Bush. "I guess I should have known it was him because each time I got a gift it said, 'Merry Christmas, you American pig.' I just assumed it was Senator Craig in one of his homophobic drunken rages." White House Press Secretary Dana Perino issued a statement saying that the President intends on returning the gifts that he received from bin Laden due to a conflict of interest. "The president feels that since he is trying to hunt down and kill Osama bin Laden he would be sending the wrong message to keep the gifts. Everything will be returned except for the case of Johnny Walker Blue. JW Blue is premier scotch and no infidel should have it in their possession." |

So Santa has apparently arrived in early in California from far-off Australia, and I hadn't even made the lasagne yet. Thank you, dearest Santa! And thanks will come again once the mysterious package has been opened on Christmas morning. Santa, I now know something about your non-Mudcat self -- what amazing work you are doing in many areas! -- and I am also very curious about your Mudcat identity, but I am reluctant to open the parcel until the day, in case what's inside is not wrapped. Tell me Santa, would it by safe to open the parcel and look for a note inside, or would that ruin the Christmas surprise? (Or, would it be a good idea for mew to ask my husband to look inside for a note and then seal it up again for opening on Christmas morning?) Yours, Claire |

Now this pole doesn't have penguins, not like them Fairy Penguins on Philip Island, where they also have Nobbies, which sounds very rude to me! How I wish old Santa's workshop had been at the South Pole, Santa likes penguins. Very nice in a stew I believe ;) So keep behaving, and getting better too, otherwise you won't enjoy my goodies. We aim to please, you know :-) You don't have to thank me on a daily basis, but it's nice to hear that you like the presents I've selected. How is your Dauvitt getting on, does he still enjoy sucking his dummy and does it keep him docile? As to your first observation, you're absolutely right. Well done ;o) But my abode... you know, don't you, that Santa lives on the North Pole? Santa travels around a lot, though, and, China apart, I have visited the 3 other places mentioned. I have also visited your beautiful home country. China wouldn't have come into it, if that disoriented little elf hadn't gotten lost in transit on his way to Australia.. I'm glad he did make it there in the end, pity he didn't buy the items he was sent out to procure! He's still busy counting peedie bits, you know. Yours inconspicuously, MISS |

Subject: RE: BS: Secret Santa messages part two From: GUEST,, Barden of England's SS Date: 09 Dec 07 - 03:33 PM Santa has been run ragged this year and, alas, hasn't had time for appearances here. But I've just packaged up some goodies for you which early Tuesday morning I will entrust to my loyal elves at the US Postal Service. (See -- I think that qualifies as a hint, doesn't it?) Here's hoping that this year they will actually ship it on board a fast-flying jet plane as they are paid to (unlike another year when they took my money and shipped it via a tramp steamer through the Panama Canal, outrigger canoe through the Pacific islands, rickshaw to Mongolia, Tuvan pony express to Europe, barge down major riverways stopping for sightseeing in quaint villages, found somebody to swim the package across the Channel and then took the scenic route by foot to my Secret Santee). Hope it reaches you soon! SS (which, besides being the abbreviation for Secret Santa, is two of my own three initials) |

Let me wish you a very Happy Santa Lucia's Day in return, then. That's one of the "big days" in the Scandinavian countries and will be celebrated in two days' time, on 13th December with kids walking in procession and singing. I shall be looking forward to your present, and I shall keep watching the skies - as best I can, the clouds are hanging very low today. And with little furry standing to attention nearby both eager and happy to help out with getting rid of any unwanted evidence. I do my best to be good, esteemed BOSS, as always! Reverent greetings, Bente |

All part of the great plan, my Dear. I figured that that way you'd get a bigger collection of fridge magnets, and with unique specimens, too. There was an extra bag of spare magnets and glue in the box, wasn't there? So, you just grab them as they come, glue a magnet on the back of them and hang them on the fridge alongside the others, and voìla.. There was such a bag in the box, wasn't there?? I instructed.... JINGS!! I just remember WHO was put in charge of that task... Well, Dear, if the bag wasn't in the package, please let me know, and I shall make certain that said elf will not have time for more mischief for a good while to come. We still have lots of peedie bits to count and bag, and I'm sure I can find other tasks of a similar nature for him once he's finished that. I can assure you that such inattention to detail will not go unpunished, my Dear! The best-laid schemes o' mice an' men gang aft agley.. I shall make sure that the missing items are dispatched to you with the last consignment, no doubt about that. In the meantime play for time. Subject: RE: BS: Secret Santa messages part two From: Dave'sWife Date: 12 Dec 07 - 01:44 PM Dear Silenus Charm, Santa's Crack Research Elf: So sorry to be away from thsi thread. I've been busy cooking. Over Thanskgiving holidays I made a huge batch of my very best Never-Fail Cranberry Sauce and put a bunch of it up in jars. I was also busy boiling down Pyracantha berries to make my first ever batch of Firethorn Berry Chili preserves. After a lot of trial and error, I believe I have perfected the recipe. I did indeed get the Tar Heel pie recipe postcard and it was magnificiant! I do hope to bake one up soon. Today am occupied with a bread pudding. I cubed a stale loaf of Cinnamon bread 3 days ago and really need to get the custard made and over those bread cubes before they become bird food! I meant to do it yesterday but I was distracted by a small rack of lamb my husband wanted for dinner. Colors I might like - as you know, NO ORANGE. I'm not a big fan of primary colors either. My Cottage was just painted a lovely cape cod blue if that helps you out at all. It looks lovely but now I have to redo the front gardens that line the fence. Yellow & white Aliums just won't do any more. At least I can consider putting in some pink and lavendar flowers now. I would very much like Mrs. Claus' Chess Pie recipe. if she happens to have one for Lemon Chess Pie, so much the better! I saw an item in a catalog from Virgibnia Tradtions (they sell hams and such) and it was a combination of a lemon chess pie and lemon cheesecake! Can you imagine such a thing?? Yummy. It seems they use a deep dish lemon chess pie base, fill it halfway and bake it some, then return it to the oven topped off with the cheesecake filling. That's a pie I would risk making for sure. Tonite I have to figure out what to do with several pounds of frozen Perch filets. My Mum suggests frying them but that's boring. I'm thinking of making them in a casserole like escalloped potatoes and sliding the filets in between layers of potatoes and sweet onions. add in some greek yogurt or sour cream, some parmesan, a little milk and then top with butter cracker crumbs and more parmesan cheese. Do you or any of the other elves think this is a good idea? I may not get around to trying this until tomorrow since I still have leftover Lamb from last nite. I think Dave (my husband) won't mind having rack of lamb leftovers especially since I managed to find a six pack of Asahi dry in bottles at tarder Joes. For the longest time they only had cans. Blech! Asahi in bottles is sublime and even better when paired with rich food since it's so crisp and clean tasting. So, that's all from me. I hope the reindeer are well. My favorites was always Comet. Please give his ears a nice scritching from me and tell him I think he's the top! I know every always goes for Rudolph or Donner (his dad so they say). Me, I always heard Comet was the best sleigh puller and that he has amazing sense of direction. Best wishes Dave'sWife |
Subject: RE: BS: Secret Santa messages part two From: GUEST,Silenus Charm Date: 12 Dec 07 - 02:31 PM Dear Dave'sWife, The perch idea sounds not entirely like Jansson's Temptation, which is a traditional Christmas season dish in Sweden, not too far from here. (The way the wind is blowing today, I can almost smell the anchovies!) There's an article, and a link to a recipe, here. It is a wonderful dish, but you have to like anchovies. So, perhaps you could adapt that recipe, except of course perch is very mild...maybe perch and anchovies? Another potential problem is that the perch might add too much moisture, but if you put it in a separate layer on the bottom and added breadcrumbs, maybe it would be OK...not sure; Mrs. Claus is not Swedish and, anyway, doesn't have any experience with perch. Good luck! Let us know how it comes out, whatever you do. Mrs. Claus is copying some recipes for you as we speak. Good thing the reindeer are expert at fast deliveries. Comet says hello, and do you have any fresh lichen? He loves fresh lichen even more than I love Jansson's Temptation. Regards, Silenus Charm |

Subject: RE: BS: Secret Santa messages part two From: Dave'sWife Date: 13 Dec 07 - 10:53 AM Dear Silenus Charm, What a helpful elf you are. yes, that recipe is very similar to what I had in mind for my perch filets. Instead of the cream, I'll use Greek Yogurt which is very thick - almost like butter. Layered with the Onions and potatoes and cracker crumbs it ought to come out very much like the Jansson's Temptation. I think I will save this dish for closer to Christmas proper seeing as it's a traditional holiday dish. I like to use Ritz Cracker crumbs mixed with some regular breadcrumbs because they are so decadant and melt in your mouth. Since you've been so helpful, perhaps you can suggest a nice dessert to go with it? I looked at the Saffrom cake but it didn't appeal to me. Maybe I'll make a Pavlova or individual spongecakes with spiced pears. I got a huge box of pears from fruit of the month club and I'm always trying to find something to do with them. I'm afraid I'm short on fresh Lichen. Is there anything else that Comet might like to nibble on when Santa passes through the neighborhood? Do reindeer eat Pyracantha berries? They're in the apple and rose family and birds and bears love them. Just tell him to spit out the seeds since they're not good for you. I have a huge Firethorn bush/tree in my side garden next to the chimney. he could probably snag a mouthfull without even having to make a stop! Believe it or not, I still have s stand of sunflowers that the birds haven't totally picked clean and while the stalk are all dried up, the seedheads are still intact (well some of them anyway). I don't know if there'll still be some at Christmass, but Comet is welcome to have a munch. They are conveniently located next to the Chimney also. Does he like Moss? I Have a nice soft bed of moss in one corner of the side garden and he can have that too if he likes. I'll have to do some research and see about planting some reindeer friendly food sources for next year. The past few years, I've been trying to see to it that the Monarch butterflies have something to eat when they get here. There used to be Milkweed all over the neighborhood but when we put a new fence in, the landscaper tore all of our milkweed out. It's s shame too because it's the one plant the Monarchs love the most and utlize in every stage of their life cycle. I had mercy on the ground bees this month and permitted my huge basil bush to go completely into flower. Usually I pinch off the buds all the way thru winter so I can have a supply of fresh basil for pesto and margherita pizza . However, after seeing how much they loved the delicate white basil blossoms, and how they'd fight me for them as I tried to pinch them off, I decided to give them the entire bush for Christmas and they're loving it! In spring, I'm hoping to convince my husband to help me get serious about putting in a reised bed for sweet peppers, salad greens and a few tomato plants. if he won't cooperate, I think I'll have to buy those Earthboxes and grow our salads on the side porch along with the citrus trees I'm hoping get for Christmas. I'm tired of paying so much for Red bell peppers and lemons. TIme to grow my own. Well, I'm off to go trim some lavendar for a sachet and see what I few basil leaves I can grab before the ground bees get mad at me for raiding their lunch table. |
Subject: RE: BS: Secret Santa messages part two From: GUEST,Silenus Charm. D'sW's SS's CRE Date: 13 Dec 07 - 12:19 PM If I had a surfeit of pears, I would surely poach some of them in port -- or failing that, in Stone's ginger currant wine. I am afraid I am not as conversant as I could be with Scandinavian desserts. I think I would be tempted to have a warm fruit compote of some kind after a dish as rich as Jansson's temptation, possibly with some shortbread on the side. I wonder if shortbread would be good flavoured with saffron? Or possibly it would be better to use cardamom, which is of course also much used in Scandinavian baking. |

I intended to get it to you by this time, but those reindeer have been giving me problems. At first I thought they were just to fat to get into harness easily (global warming gave them more reindeer moss, so they've put on a few), then I thought they weren't pulling from the spavin. Nope, it turns out they had the pip! A light case, luckily, but who thought that even flying reindeer could get an avian disease? Well, they're on the mend, but that wasn't going to help your case, so I took it to the post office today. Subject: RE: BS: Secret Santa messages part two From: Liz the Squeak Date: 14 Dec 07 - 03:22 AM I hope your reindeer 'pip' wasn't the same as the 'pip' my mother told us we'd get if we sat on the cold ground or a brick wall... She never could explain to any satisfactory degree just exactly WHAT the 'pip' was, but that's because it would have involved the use of the word 'bottom' and my mother was way beyond reluctant to mention any body part that had to be covered with underwear. Consequently, after years of sitting on the cold ground or walls, I could have the 'pip' and not know it... or it may just be piles. LTS |

Subject: RE: BS: Secret Santa messages part two From: bfdk Date: 15 Dec 07 - 06:49 AM Ah... that's a pity, I just posted to the other thread that my present has, indeed, been received here. It might otherwise have been interesting to watch the battle of the titans or Secsy Liz versus Da BOSS. On the other hand, depriving Secsy of her chocolates may have been more than London could have handled. I mean, piercing, ear-splitting screams of despair leaving East London with as many shattered window panes as the Blitz did, and right before Christmas, too? Nah.. on second thought, that's probably not such a good idea! Esteemed BOSS Santa, I *have* received your present for which I humbly and reverently thank you! If you can find another reason for depriving Secsy of her chocolates, please go ahead and do so, but leave me out of it, I won't be held responsible (either).. :o) Best wishes, Bente |

Subject: RE: BS: Secret Santa messages part two From: Dave'sWife Date: 15 Dec 07 - 09:46 PM Dear Silenus Charm: Well, I made my version of the Jansson's Delight tonite. It's almost done as I type. Took 1 16 ounce container of greek yogurt, mixed with 2 cups milk and 8 ounces of softened cream cheese to make a thick creamy sauce. I trimmed up those nasty little perch filets and got a few sliver bones stuck in my fingers for my trouble. Then, I took a mandolin blade and sliced one gigantic sweet white onion, 2 medium potatoes, 2 small green italian squashes and one parsnip. I layered the veggies, added some of the cream sauce and a liberal sprinkling of shaved asiago cheese. Then i layed the filets on top, repeated with veggies, smoothed the rest of the cream sauce over top, layered with ritz cracker crumbs and some more Asiago. it's bubbling in the oven and smells really good. Let's hope Dave doesn't choke on any perch bones I missed! |

Subject: RE: BS: Secret Santa messages part two From: GUEST,Kim.C's exceedingly devious Santa Date: 17 Dec 07 - 01:39 PM Dear Ms C I am so glad that both packages arrived as per the instructions to the elves. Does the calendar give you a clue to my identity? I think that you will know when you open the package on Christmas Day. There is something in it that is not truly from me but is something that I care about a great deal. One other gift is steeped in music but is not musical in nature. |
Subject: RE: BS: Secret Santa messages part two From: Liz the Squeak Date: 18 Dec 07 - 09:46 AM Meg - I can now reveal that Snugglebutt was stationed in the south of the UK. Not that that helps, everything is south of you! He's completely knackered now and is having a lie down on my sofa next to the cat, muttering darkly about getting a job in 'Toys R Us' next December as it will be less work than what he's had to carry to your house. LTS |
Subject: RE: BS: Secret Santa messages part two From: Megan L Date: 18 Dec 07 - 10:28 AM Dear Liz It's not my fault he got waylaid in China and I did try to cover for his adventures in Oz. there are getting less pressies in the box but Dauvitt has been very good and not let me open any with the wrong number drat him. |
Subject: RE: BS: Secret Santa messages part two From: Dave'sWife Date: 18 Dec 07 - 07:35 PM Liz - I neglected to include some instructions for my version of Jansson's Delight - if you add any veggies other than potatoes and onions, you should salt them and lay them on paper towels to let the excess moisture drain out. Also be sure to pat dry all the fish filets. Any added moisture can ruin this casserole. I used Greek Yogurt instead of regular yogurt because it is more than twice as thick. If you don't have Greek yogurt available, you can approximate it by draining plain yogurt with cheese cloth until it has the thickness of cream cheese. It might not hurt to add some fresh chopped Dill either. If I make this again, I may sweat out some thinly sliced fennel to layer with the oinions for some added flavor. My father gave a me a great idea on how to pull out the little bones in the fish if you don't have a fish bone pliers on hand - he said use a small hemostat from a first aid kit. they can lock in the clamped position and then you can just yank the bones out. If Silenus Charm is readin - I consider the recipe to have been one of My Santa's gifts to me! It was a huge hit. Many thanks |

So the little Danish pastry has been trying to blow my cover has she I will deal with her most severly, I might even have to send granny round to have a word. I am begining to worry that my furry delivery system might be to busy fishing mid atlantic to get your pressie there on time but keep your eyes open. Your former santa did try to tell me you were a quiet sweet little thing but santa knows the truth still I was short on coal and birch rods this year a lot of children in germany have been naughty so your pressie will contain neither. Subject: RE: BS: Secret Santa messages part two From: GUEST,Yet Another Secret Santa Sort! (Animaterra) Date: 20 Dec 07 - 12:05 AM Ms. Animaterra, I have it on very good authority that rooftops aren't what they used to be. I can't risk any of the reindeer breaking a leg, so I've hired the man in blue to deliver your parcel. Since he/she doesn't do rooftop delivery either, it will have to arrive on your front stoop as close to the appropriate date as possible. We have achieved lift off and are aiming at a xmas eve delivery. Or a xmas eve eve eve delivery. Since this santa and that santee are (apparently) in agreement regarding the general appropriation of the holiday by a scurrilous cult, the opening date of the package is entirely up to the Santee. YASSS! |
Subject: RE: BS: Secret Santa messages part two From: GUEST,Maryrrf's Secret Santa Date: 20 Dec 07 - 03:04 AM I can confidently report that your parcel is on its way. I cannot, with any confidence at all, predict when it will arrive, or by which route it will travel, so try not to get too excited just yet. I was a little (a lot!) late in loading up the sleigh, and sending the parcel on its way. The only thing I can guarantee is that, although it is plentiful around here and an integral part of our local history, you will not be getting a lump of coal. So, it is possible, but improbable, that you will get your parcel in time for Christmas, but more likely that you will be opening it as you declare your resolute intentions to have a wonderful new year. Unless it goes the long, long way around and then, who knows when it will arrive? Lots of Christmas traffic jams to negotiate, even for sleighs in the sky. |

Subject: RE: BS: Secret Santa messages part two From: GUEST,MeganL's Indefatigable Secret Santa Date: 20 Dec 07 - 07:11 AM Megan, my Dear, If you want to call one of you new logders Snugglebutt after Secsy's elf, that's entirely up to you. You're in charge, never forget that! Did one of them come with a needle in his bottom? Are you still watching the mail? I'm sorry to say that there's been a slight delay in the North Pole workshop. Do not worry, Dear, your final present is in the mail and will hopefully be winging its way to you as I type. In order to avoid more mishaps I designated the task of packing and sending your final present to a female elf this time. But I forgot to tell her not to delegate...!! And guess what happened? She was feeling a bit off colour after one of the workshop pre Christmas parties and asked... you've probably guessed who... to take the parcel to the post office. And HE was busy counting the last of the peedie bits, so he just put the parcel on a shelf thinking he'd do it later. Then he forgot all about it. I'm sorry to say that your present sat for a few days on the shelf before someone noticed. I'm truly sorry about this, Dear. It seems that this particular elf does nothing but mess things up. The parcel has been sent now, and I do hope that it will reach you in time for Christmas, but it's not an entirely sure thing. I hope you'll not be too disappointed if it doesn't reach you until after Christmas. Don't fret, it will get there eventually. Said elf is now in charge of cleaning the goose pen out the back - with his tongue!! MISS |

Being slow off the starting gate already, I have this past week or so also refrained from sending you what you most deserve, so as not to also post you my cold! Do not fear, I'm thinking of you dear though Christmas is near -- there is always next year!! So you can leave off waiting for me by the mailbox, and you can put away those nice-smelling cinnamon cookies and carrots. I will not make my appearance at your chimney-side in 2007, but hope to soon in the early beginning of 2008. I wish you the happiest of Christmases and the Merriest of New Years!! Your sincere but sorrowful and still snifflin' Santa |

I told you I'm not the most patient person") And I put one of them in the car's cd player, on my way to do some Christmas shopping. The music is wonderful. Just the type of music I'd expect from a Mudcat Secret Santa. I've only enjoyed the first one, "Because We Can." I'll listen to the other one later, and expect to enjoy it equally. Thanks again. Subject: RE: BS: Secret Santa messages part two From: Sarah the flute Date: 23 Dec 07 - 03:54 AM OH DEAR! Confession time to my poor piratey SS. I have indeed stuffed up big time. I did the SS admin at the beginning of Sept and then about a month later they decided to close our office building and we moved....and guess who forgot to amend details on the SS grapevine. So my fault entirely! They are supposed to forward mail onto us but if it needed a signature they might not of done this so it might be on its way back to you on the high seas. Home address useless as the post doesn't arrive until we are all at work and they won't leave parcels and can't always get to the sorting office within the time allowed depending on day of delivery. So new work is best and Liz is passing it on. Please accept apologies and don't make ME walk plank, get keelhauled ....maybe I should just offer myself to the shark! Merry Christmas A very silly Sarah |

Subject: RE: BS: Secret Santa messages part two From: Kim C Date: 24 Dec 07 - 10:19 AM Why yes, Santy, I do believe I have an idea as to who you are. I will find out for sure tomorrow. ;-) |
Subject: RE: BS: Secret Santa messages part two From: Megan L Date: 24 Dec 07 - 01:05 PM Dearest Santa did I happen tae mention Ahv got the best santa on Mudcat!! The twa dugs are a delight and are causing a lot less trouble than the reindeer and those flamin elves. Well to be fair it isny the reindeers fault they keep trying to race him around my musical angel to se if they can put her of the tune. The bear has fallen asleep again after trying to beat Dauvitt tae the last o the chocolate santas. Needless to say the bear lost again. |
Subject: RE: BS: Secret Santa messages part two From: artbrooks Date: 24 Dec 07 - 03:18 PM But didn't you already have twa...never mind... |
Subject: RE: BS: Secret Santa messages part two From: GUEST,MeganL's Irrepressible Secret Santa Date: 24 Dec 07 - 06:55 PM Thank you for the kind words, my Dear, I'm still blushing furiously. I'm glad you've enjoyed the selection of little knick-knack I've picked out for you, and that the elves haven't laid complete waste to your home yet. I hope you can keep them in check. I'm amazed to hear that your Dauvitt beats that bear to the chocolate santas every time. He must be swifter than I thought, because it is a very fast bear - or have you fed him so well that he's getting fat and incabable of running? I hope the two ankle biters aren't running circles round your legs, at any rate ;-) Now, I'm anxious to know whether that final present will make it to you in time for Christmas? I had a communication from a postal elf last night, and at that time the news was that he was standing on the shore with a large body of water stretching in front of him, and the wind was picking up, so he was a bit concerned. He did promise me that he would do his utmost to get the package to you on time, and I have every faith that he will, but wind and water are two formidable forces to be reckoned with. Don't be too disappointed, Dear, if he doesn't manage after all. It will get there, never you fear! Merry Christmas, Megan Dear, it's been a pleasure stringing you along ;-) | MISS |
Subject: RE: BS: Secret Santa messages part two From: Megan L Date: 25 Dec 07 - 03:38 AM Well Santa dear the wind picked up most fearful it may have blown said postal elf to Kingdom Come but i am sure he will get back on track in a couple of days then when it is all over and folks are glum I will still have a pressie to open:) Those daschies are dashing around the room at this very moment helping me prepare the Goose and make cranberry and apple relish. The elves are sleeping but i can see noses twitching at the smell of my bacon buttie so trouble might start soon. I hope you and yours have a splendiferous day Awra best Meg |
Subject: RE: BS: Secret Santa messages part two From: GUEST,Catherine Jayne's Secret Santa Date: 25 Dec 07 - 02:22 PM Dear Catherine Jayne-- Now that you'll be opening that package--I hope--I have to tell you that as we were wrapping it we noticed that the "thing" we sent for the baby says "not safe for under 3 years old" so will you please put it on a shelf until he's 3 (!) or watch him when he plays with it? I suspect they're worried about the eyes coming loose and getting swallowed or choked on. We meant well! Oh, well, you can read him the book. Love, Santa |
Subject: RE: BS: Secret Santa messages part two From: jacqui.c Date: 25 Dec 07 - 03:26 PM Dear Santa I think that my gift has been posted to Maine and I shall be in the UK until this Friday. That means I won't know if my gift has survived the tender ministrations of the British and American postal systems until the weekend. I will let you know as soon as possible though. |

Subject: RE: BS: Secret Santa messages part two From: GUEST,Becca72's sneaky santa Date: 28 Dec 07 - 04:03 AM Well my dear I hope you enjoyed the bits and pieces. On a farm instructors course it was once said of my boiler suit "If it fits her it will fit anybody" he wasn't trying to be cruel just acurate:) but i still never let him live it down. Now it is time to guess and i hope there were some clues because keeping up this proper talk has been real hard work. So the box was royal mail what a pity the post mark was smudged I really must give that postal elf an extra little something. Clues hmmmm 1. I am not LTS though I have actually seen her. 2. I usually post in another language. 3. I would never call a seal a seal if i could call it by another name. I see you are already trying to build up brownie points for next years santa:) Have fun |
Subject: RE: BS: Secret Santa messages part two From: Sandra in Sydney Date: 28 Dec 07 - 04:52 AM Hilda Fish's Santa Hilda hasn't posted since late Nov & I know she was going to be out of Sydney from mid to late Dec. Subject: RE: BS: Secret Santa messages part two From: GUEST,Stilly's Sorry Santa Date: 25 Jan 08 - 02:56 PM Maggie dear, never fear! Santa hasn't forgotten you. The postal elves revolted and locked themselves in with the mailroom along with several parcels. Chief Recon Elf Tippytoes must have taken a liking to you, he volunteered to infiltrate the mailroom and sneak your parcel out. After a brief stint in the ER, he appeared with said parcel. I had to sneak down to the Post Office under cover of darkness and wait for them to open, but it is now in the hands of the USPS. |

Subject: RE: BS: Secret Santa messages part two From: Stilly River Sage Date: 25 Jan 08 - 11:38 PM This story is certainly a good mystery! I hope the "rest of the story" is forthcoming! SRS (looking forward to Anthony, our mailer carrier, arriving with a package one of these days) |
Subject: RE: BS: Secret Santa messages part two From: Stilly River Sage Date: 30 Jan 08 - 12:03 AM I'm still waiting on that box so I can start guessing soon about my SS. Has everyone else figured out who their Santas were? Maybe I can compile a list and do process of elimination. (Sounds like a medical procedure Rapaire went through recently, doesn't it?) SRS |
Subject: RE: BS: Secret Santa messages part two From: GUEST,Stilly's Secret Santa Date: 30 Jan 08 - 11:58 AM Mmm...well, it went parcel post, so I wouldn't expect it before Friday at the earliest. |
Subject: RE: BS: Secret Santa messages part two From: Stilly River Sage Date: 30 Jan 08 - 12:17 PM It wasn't a reflection on your posting, but pondering a strategy. There seem to be a lot of packages MIA, so I don't know if it would be worth the effort to set up an Xcel spread sheet. Maybe better to use the Ouija board. . . |
Subject: RE: BS: Secret Santa messages part two From: katlaughing Date: 30 Jan 08 - 01:31 PM SRS, my sister, bet, has never received anything. |

Subject: RE: BS: Secret Santa messages part two 2008 From: Stilly River Sage Date: 11 Feb 08 - 11:10 PM Whew! All of these Secret Santa threads can make your head spin! Sounds like the reinforcements are stepping into the postal breach. (I almost wrote "postal breech," but that, of course, would be part of a mail carrier's uniform! Come to think of it. . . ) :) SRS |
Subject: RE: BS: Secret Santa messages part two From: GUEST,Peg Leg Pierce, Christmas Pirate Date: 15 Apr 08 - 10:05 PM Oy Flutie Sarah: Yell never guess wot I done found down in Davy Jone's locker - yep - yer pressie box somewot inact, mushed in places by fat whales sittin on top offit fer a bit and ragged round the edges by the tentative nibbles of giant squidders. So here's pressie box status - valuables intact, perishibles tossed, canned goods intact, christmas items out-of-date but intact. Fer being a patient santee, I'm a gonna stuff some more pressies inside, take out waterlogged coal and repackage the entire lot. I gots my landlubbin' assistant lookin ta see iffin we can ship this mother(lode) in a trackable manner this time to avoid any further hijacks byt that evil davy jones.
