If there is an afterlife I hope he performs, along with Ronnie Barker, the many skits of folk and country music that was one of their many talents. Sad now. DtG |

After that (he said) we used to sing the same words. |

He had been performing for around 60 years, giving us many enjoyable hours laughing with the Two Ronnies. Those brilliant song parodies: eg, Plumstead Ladies Male Voice Choir, Bold Sir John etc. always struck a happy chord! |

03 Apr 16 - 12:18 PM (#3783073) Subject: RE: Obit: Ronnie Corbett (1930-2016) From: GUEST An awful lot of famous people in show business or music have passed away in recent months (Ronnie Corbett, Terry Wogan, Paul Daniels, David Bowie, Lemmy from Motorhead, etc). It gets to the stage that it's hard to remember who's alive and who's dead (there used to be a website called something like "who's alive and who's dead" at http://www.whosaliveandwhosdead.com/, but I just tried it and got an error message so I don't know if it still exists. Sometimes though one is pleasantly surprised to find out that someone who you thought was dead is still alive. After seeing the British actor Joss Ackland on TV recently I looked up Google to see when he died and found out that not only was he still alive, technically he had only celebrated about 22 birthdays as he was born on February 29th! (2016 is of course a leap year). He was however born about 88 years ago. |
