Thoughts and prayers for the two coal miners who lost their lives today in a cave-in at the Dotiki Mine in Hopkins County, W. Kentucky.
Sympathies extended for the families of Justin Travis and Michael Carter

I was in the area less then two weeks ago and know how greatly this affects everyone in the community.

And the hits just keep on coming..........

My sympathy to the families of these two very young men. Back in the day a lot of folks fought for better conditions and more money when we should have been fighting for better training for different jobs in other fields and found other energy sources.....but we didn't. And now the words "clean coal" turn my stomach with every mountain blown to hell and every family mourning the loss of a loved one.

And, today, not 4-5 days after some were laid to rest, the families of the 29 earlier deaths were offered three million dollars plus other compensations. You know the company knew they were in the wrong, offering settlements so early on. It's despicable..as if that would ever compensate for the loss of dads, sons, and brothers, uncles, and friends.
