As Caroline told Greenhaus today on the 'phone, Joe, that Carl Sandburg recording was the one played for the class by her enlightened 7th grade teacher, lo, those many years ago. It was hearing Sandburg's growling voice presenting songs of substance, as opposed to the marshmallow fluff of "pop" music, that turned her into the devoted folkie she remains today. Glad to hear it's now available as a CD. Thanks for the info. I also agree with both you and Willie O. about the Grisman/Garcia CD. Sandy
